Clarkson may get points for talking on mobile...

Can't stand people on the phone when driving, really, really irritates me. Hope he does get points and a fine IF there is better pics showing its deffo him.

Too little evidence, but at least we should be getting an amusing section about it in his column on Saturday :D

The photo looks exceedingly dodgy to me!

And yes, 70mph you need at-least 1/300, but what I remember 1/500 would be needed for that...

He won't get done for it, not enough evidence!

Brilliant, they need something more interesting in life.

Clarkson won't be prosecuted for this, there is not enough evidence and he will just employee Mr Loophole again.

Has no one else noticed he hasnt got his seatbelt on either??

If it was a normal person people would be slagging them, because its jeremy clarkson its insane that they reported him

hmmm

I don't think it's because it's clarkson. I think it's because that picture shows nothing. You can't really tell it's him, although the hair is a bit of a giveaway lol, you can't tell if he's moving, you can't tell where he is, if his engine is on etc. It's just a bit of a pathetic thing for someone to do really, all for a bit of cash.

Stop spreading rumours lest I ban you :p

JC will get away with it as far as I'm concerned good on him too - stupid people trying to cash in on something like just don't deserve the attention. I doubt they ever take pictures of every person they "catch" on their mobiles so why is the fact it's a celebrity any different?

I hate people who talk on mobiles whilst driving, unless it's a traffic jam then I'm less bothered by it, however I somehow feel less vitriolic towards JC

If he broke the law then he broke the law but i do however feel they only shopped him due to him being who he is.........................what a sad life they must lead

Cheap digital/mobile phone cameras don't even have shutters, let alone variable speed ones ;)
I didn't say that had actual shutters but that they have a shutter speed setting ;)

This forum is getting worse for being picky about posts and requiring a whole load of backup material to prove something.

Aye, but so are a lot of other forums I frequent. Just seems to be a sad trend of wikilawyergeek-itis(tm) spreading amongst net users.

None of the camera phones I have owned have had a shutter speed setting, maybe the posher ones do? AFAIK the exposure is simply varied automatically according to available light, which is why they give such wee-poor pictures in many light conditions.
