Clio 172 - Full beam not working

My full beam on my Clio has been broken for sometime now. I have read the ClioSport forum and found that the indicator stalk is prone to breaking. I therefore replaced this but it did not cure the problem.

To give you some background, there aren't any blown fuses etc and the relays are firmly pushed in (it was suggested they work loose sometimes if a passenger kicks them). I can pull the stalk back and it clicks, but the lights remain unchanged.

I'm not sure what else to try or what my next step should be? Do I take it to a garage or an auto electrician? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Do you get any voltage at all to the bulbs? That would be something to check. Also check that the circuit is grounded properly and that all of the connections are fine. Poor earth is quite often to blame for stuff like this.

No, because the full beam isn't working on either side. Surely a blown bulb would cause just one side to go?

Your right, 2x H7 bulbs ordered. Should have done this before now. For some reason I had overlooked this.

Once I get this working my Clio will be up for sale!

Sorry to revive an old topic. I changed the bulbs and the problem persists.

I have contacted an Auto Electrician who will charge £45 to diagnose the problem (fixing it will be extra if it is a big job). Is this reasonable? Anyway I can keep the cost down?
