Hey guys,

I need some advice.

I'm thinking of disconnecting the main GPU fan and sitting two Papst fans from my old system next to the card in an attempt to silence the 747 turbine engine that's cooling this card.

Or do you think a fan controller is a better/safer option? If so which one would you recommend and are they easy to install and use?

I rarely play games.

What do you think?

i disconnected the gpu fan and strapped on a 92mm YS tech fan....I control it via speedfan and it works very well. Better than stock actually

its only a 2 pin fan though...im currently using the onboard fan header on the motherboard and controlling it via speedfan

I think disconnecting and strapping another (controllable) fan on top may be the best option, I had the same issue with it running @ 100% all the time, I ended up sending it back for a refund and buying a 1 month old 8800GT from MM

Yea Ive done that with a 2 pin. 2 pin just means it has power only, no speed control which is the problem to begin with

You can plug a 2 pin fan into a 3 pin socket, just make you get it the right way round though its not going to blow up if you dont get it right at first try

Anyway a spare fan is fine too if you prefer that
