Looks like they found her

Did anyone accusing the family of underhandedness not see the 'press conferences'?

If the mother is that good an actress she needs signing up to the actors guild.

I am so glad that she has been found....can't begin to wonder what the family must have going through.

I have to say, though, I am pleased that this isn't another one of those "If we'd had identity cards / DNA fingerprinting we would have found her 3 weeks ago" stories.

Well, the guy arrested is part of the extended matthews family.

Good news she's been found though, i couldnt take another Mccann media explosion.

I work at the school where the girls brother goes. We've had the family in here a few times, and there's no way in hell the immediate family were involved, They are heart broken

Mum's watching bbc news 24 :) they just said it on there as i wandered past.

It's now been reported on Sky too.

Strange that BBC knew the guy previously had kids taken into care from his custody but not that he was part of Shannon's family :/

Borrrring. Would have been much more entertaining if her cockroach-stuffed body had been found in a Lydian sarcophagus, painted with runes and glyphs, and a picture of the Stay Puft marshsmallow man shoved down her throat with the words I AM COMING painted in bat's blood on it.

Sounds like a case for Sherlock Holmes. 19th Century crime was more fun.

lol at the chavs on sky news downing bottles of wine in celebration.

reporter "what are your feelings on the situation"
chav with a bottle of wine "dunno i not been here"

Glad she's been found, and I hope she's OK.

But...

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the girl had been found concealed in the base of a divan bed in a house in Lidgate Gardens in Batley Carr.

Neighbours said police smashed their way in and emerged carrying Shannon who was last seen leaving Westmoor Junior School in Dewsbury on 19 February.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of abduction.

Never a good sign.

There are some cold hearts on this forum.

And there are also some people fed up with this being rammed down our throats. There are thousands that go missing every year, the general public feel sorry for one or two kids that go missing every year? Gimme a break if the public and press cared that much they would do something about those thousands that go missing and are never found.

But its a sign of the society we live in when 'one can feel sorry' for a kid that gets mass coverage in the news, but then be blissfully ignorant that thousands more families are going through worse.

Maybe if when something like happens sparks a nationwide campaign to recognise those thousands that go missing and do something about I might actually care.

Wonder if they'll crack open one of those cheapo lagers to celebrate the fact that they can now make quite a few quid from flogging the story to whatever tabloid pays the most?
