if i said i dont like it as it still doesn't look like a 'proper' porsche and it still doesn't have a 'proper' engine for a porsche would it be held against me?

so i guess that's the long winded way of calling it a poor mans porsche.

funnily enough i know someone who had one (s model?) and sold it after my mate embarrassed him in a straight line race in his escort RST.

he's now got a proper porsche...

Mate had to sell his carrera 4 last year to free some capital, bought a boxster s as it was the only thing that felt similar to the 996. The only people who gave him stick were drivers of bland euroboxes who think they know something about motors.

Personally never thought of any porsche as a 'poor man's 911' but then I still like 944's and have a real hankering for a 968 clubsport

Caymans are more expensive than boxsters, they're the same floorpan plus they also have huge hips and are really ungainly from the rear 3/4 angle.

My boss who is part of a car club which has alsorts of exotics has always said the boxster is up with the best. I prefer the cayman but yes it is a poor mans 911.i minced one in a straight line in my 330. So get an s!

If by rear 3/4 angle you mean this, I have no idea how you can think it looks bad, I think it looks superb, I would love one in white.
