7900gt ko rma for a 8600 gts suerclocked.. good deal?

As said, its ok. I have seen people offered worse cards and better cards in similar situations. If you dont allready have the replacement, see if they can give you an 8800GS or 9600GT.

these on the charts aren't the KO or Superclocked obviously, but i'd assume they'd just both be equally better than the vanilla options

The 8800 GTS is easily twice as fast as the card we replaced. The 9600 GT is still way faster. We made many performance tests and the result is, that the 8600 GTS Superclocked is comparable to the 7900 GT KO. The newer the game, the better for the GF8. The GF8 also got better (and more efficient) AA and AF modes. In high quality settings, the 8600 GTS performs noticable better than the 7900 GT KO. Once you got the card, you can test yourfself with 4x or 8x AA. In addition, the GF8600 offers full DX 10.0 acceleration and the Video Processor 2 engine.

Try it out m8, if it's slower or your not happy with it let them know about it.

They sound full of crap to me, tell them if your not happy, i know i would not swap a 7900gt for a 8600gts and i dont think to many other people would.

The 7900gt outperforms the 8600gts at every benchmark.
Agreed it does have dx10 support which the 7900gt doesn't have, but the card is a clear drop in performance.

Its a slight drop in performance I reckon, but at the end of the day its the closest. The next cards up kick the 7900GT about like a unwanted ball. Doesn't say much for their product line up though

they seem pretty similar imo... I don't really see them giving in to let you have a 9600GT... if you'd RMAed maybe a GTX or something then maybe...
