My bro has sent me a link for what the Ex Pats get up to in Spain, doing there own Spanish Crossbar challenge. Soon to be broadcast on Soccer AM

When the scouser hits the bar and they celebrate, is it me or does a naked bloke run past the screen ???

Um, right. Are these just kids messing about? Cos I'm sure there's been plenty of these will have been done here. We had a go before the penalty shootout at the end of every pre-season training session :D

This is quite a random post, it's just a guy with his shirt off that runs past. How's this a hard life anyway? They're just playing football, like most kids do.

??

The English are almost the most hated nation in Spain, only just pipped to that by the Germans.

The welcome you get when you tell them you are Scottish is unbelievable in comparison. :)

Arent the english hated everywhere ???

What do they do when they find out you are scottish ?? (Seeyou jimmy, and headbutt you ;))

Nah, they tend to start asking a lot of questions about the Culture etc, as a general rule of thumb (lol) they are a lot warmer. They tend to try and avoid or isolate/antagonise the English. Thats only from what I've seen from my year in the south, and I am trying to aviod a brushing statement.

because the spanish have some keltic heritage, and they associated the Scottish ( and the Irish)people with it

also the film BraveHearth has some to do with it :D:D

It's all good so far here in Madrid... not seen any particular animosity shown towards myself or my mates yet for being English. But then again we all speak Spanish so maybe that's where the problem lies for other Brits abroad who come not speaking a word of spanish except dos cervezas por favor or something along those lines :P

The only problem with being British in any foreign country is the language. If you can speak even the slightest bit, or make an attempt (I couldn't speak any greek when I went, but asking waiters how to ask for wine lists and the bill, you'd think you'd just given them a briefcase of money!) then you'll be alright.

^ that was my thinking :p

My Spanish does me fine. I hate seeing ignorant ex pats thinking they can sail through life in Spain without making an effort to learn, well anything.
