Nope as the Xbox and PC aren’t seeing the TV signal, you need a way of connecting the Sky box to the PC directly. You can buy a USB or PCI Freeview card and record and watch TV on the Xbox this way?

Ok thanks for the info.

Will go look at theses usb free view cards. Got any links or names of any u recommend ?

That says some channels :(

I dont have a digital aerail on the roof, just the wires in the loft ready for it (new build house)

Got sky box and sat on side of house for TV.

Oh :(

I don’t think you can use the sat dish as it uses different frequencies so won’t pick any of the freeview channels up, looks like if it says some you ideally need a roof top digital aerial you may get away with the one supplied IMO it’s a risk to take for £35 or so, you can always send it back :D

All the work i did on saturday tidying up my music folder for media centre was losted aswell !!!

Anyway gonna risk it and spend £35 for a usb tv stick.

Does having this usb tv stick cause any problems with TV liencing ?

Nope if you pay a TV licence you are fine, I believe its one licence per household not per TV.

Let us know how you get on :D

I got a USB stick for my partners son,.without a roof top areial you wotn get anything I even spent 40 quid on one of those pumped up indoor areial's.
In the end just ran a cable around the house for the indoor areial.

Yes you will, the aerial supplied is more than enough to received freeview channels, I know my old Freecom USB stick picked up every channel without any problems. Of course it depends entirely how much of a good area you are in to receive the channels but saying flat out you won’t is stupid.

Well ok ..point taken without living in a high digital signel area the supplied areial wont give you anything.
I live in a 50% signel area and it didnt work for me but your right fothsn was a silly thing to say.

I live quite close to one of the main transmitters (Emley Moor) So I get a very good Freeview & Analogue signal although I don’t use them anymore got SkyHD now :D IMO a freeview signal is a funny one as my relatives on the other side of Leeds cant pick up freeview there higher up and live closer to the mast, strange lol :p
