Hi.

Did a search and found out that I should probably use a GTX due to the larger bus at this resolution, to help with the increased overhead. At the moment I have a 640Mb GTS, so I don't think it could cope.

I was looking at selling this for £110 and then buying a GTX. However, could I just buy another 640Mb GTS and SLi them? Or would performance still be under a single GTX at this resolution?

Cheers. :)

Is your mobo SLi also, but I would Wait a few weeks to see what the new NVIDIA line up are like.

an 8800GT/3870 would be fine for 1920x1200 for pretty much everything bar crysis. Wait for a bit though to see how NV's newest line turns out.

Alright. Cheers for the info. Guess x1 card would be better. I shall hold off and wait for NV's new line up. I take it we're not talking about the 9xxx series here?

Firegod: I can't help but feel that paying approx £200 for a 2006 8800GTX isn't a great move, especially with nVidia releasing new GPU's soon.

Also I think the newer 512MB 8800GT/S is faster than a 8800GTX at the higher resolutions, its only once you crank the 1920x1200 AA that the extra memory bandwidth of the 8800GTX means its faster than the other contenders, however 1920x1200 really doesn't need AA and I certainly would pay £70 extra for a card just to push the AA.

If your really keen on getting an 8800GTX then at least wait till the nVidia refesh hits as this should push the 8800GTX prices even lower.

Hard to beat a £140 8800GT 512MB at the moment.

Cheers for the input. :)

I'm not in a hurry, but with the prices on 24" screens atm (such as the BenQ) I've been tempted. lol.

Think I may hold off a bit longer and see how things pan out.

Cheers.
