I Think it has to be

1.) Command And Conquer - defines the genre in my eyes, all the way back to the original :)
2.) World of Warcraft - the whole package just oozed polished gaming. and the soundtrack was incredible!
3.) NFS Underground 2 - Played it literally to death and still have my save lurking around on my backup HDD, how all the latest NFS games should have been :)

N.B. - it's very difficult to pin it down to just three, I'm sure if I gave it more deliberation, I'd narrow it down further but those are the ones from the top of my head.

I am totally with your comment, over the years, a lot of games have made there mark on my pc gaming experience....its a properly tricky question :)

1) Quakeworld: Perfect blend of speed, skill, teamplay and excitement. Must be pretty damn good for me to still be playing it over 10 years after I started :)
2) Far Cry: Probably the best single player FPS I've played. Fantastic graphics and (relatively) open-ended approach to the many varied levels.
3) Deus Ex: Great storyline and characterisation, it successfully managed to blend FPS with RPG while also featuring one of the best designed levels I've ever played (Hong Kong)

Ask me another day and I might choose differently however. KOTOR, COD and NFS5 (Porsche) all run it very close for 2nd and 3rd places.

heh damn hangtime u got me thinking about old times :) E4M3, ffa on barrysworld, me the lone modemer trying to quad run, u and other denial boys going crazy over at ra. ah good times :)

Half Life Series inc mods (E.g. Counter-Strike: Source)

There's a few that I'd say were very good but I cannot really rank them. E.g COD4, Cossacks, X-wing v Tie Fighter, C&C, etc.

Console games I'd say #1 is GTA: Vice City.

This is quite difficult but it would have to be;

1. Bioshock
2. Half Life 2
3. Tomb Raider 4:The Last Revelation

1) EverQuest
I've played all sorts of MMO's over the years, but nothing touches EQ1 in my opinion (UO comes close). EQ set a standard in terms of scope, imagination and comeraderie that hasn't been equalled. I've memories from that game that will last forever, and I can't watch Sayonara Norrath without tearing up.

2) Quake 3
Balls out, 150mph fragging. The best online deathmatch ever, and some of those CPMA players are just sick.

3) Morrowind
Loved the game, loved the mods, loved the community.

In no particular order my top 3 are.

RTCW MP - Still have not found a game that can touch this for its multiplayer clan games.
Half Life Series + Add ons.
Elder Scroll Series.

Would also add any of the following if more were allowed.

Command And Conquer Red Alert Series.
Football Manager/Championship Manager Series.
Diablo Series.
Baldurs Gate Series.
Quake Series.
Warcraft Series

Duke nukem 3d - Brilliant game with some great innovations and great humor.
Magic carpet 1 and 2 - Bullfrog at thier greatest.
Mechwarrior 2 - I played it to death. The most amazing mech sim ever.

Just read one of the above threads. Im simply goig to have to have 4 in my selection.

Tie Fighter - Again like mechwarrior played to death. To the extent I could fly millimeters from other ships with out hitting them. They took a fantasy story and turned into simulation. My all time favorite game.
