Tiger Woods holed a remarkable 24-foot putt at the 18th to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill as he continued his six-month winning streak.

The world number one arrived at the final hole level with Bart Bryant on nine-under-par but sunk a birdie to clinch his seventh successive win.

Woods was in a five-way tie for the lead at the start of the final round.

He soon moved out on his own with a flawless front nine - holing three birdies, before that stunning finale.

TIGER'S WINNING STREAK
Sept 2007:
BMW Championship, Lemont;
Tour Championship, Atlanta
Dec 2007:
Target World Challenge, Thousand Oaks
Jan 2008:
Buick Invitational, San Diego
Feb 2008:
Dubai Desert Classic, Dubai;
WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, Marana
Mar 2008:
Arnold Palmer Invitational, Bay Hill

"It didn't surprise me one bit," said Bryant. "You've still got to chuckle even though you're not surprised. Nothing he does anymore surprises me."

It marked a remarkable turnaround for Woods who was down in 20th place, seven shots off the lead, after the second day's play on Friday.

Wow, is all that I can say really, is there a more dominant person in sports today?

However like all good things it must come to and end, so who thinks it will be at the next tournament.;)

Hes had his day, I think he could probably still see off any sort of threat to his number one-ness and is still an amazing golfer but for now he just doesnt seem to care and seems to mosie around courses enjoying his game and turning up the heat when he needs to.

I dont blame him either. :)

Not sure I get what you mean, whe he's had his day, but has just won his seventh consecutive tournament.

Love this quote:
"It didn't surprise me one bit," said Bryant. "You've still got to chuckle even though you're not surprised. Nothing he does anymore surprises me."
Laughing's exactly what I did when it went in.

Think the record for a winning streak is 11 by a guy at the end of the 2nd world war, should be interesting to see if Tiger can do that. I wouldn't bet against him a the moment in any tournament as the rest of the field just aren't getting it right, Ernie Els still looks a bit shakey and don't think the last two outings where he dunked them in the water at the 18th will have helped, and Phil Mickelson doesn't look the be firing on all cylinders either. It's like you read in his interviews and the opinions of other Pro's. Tigers best game is unstoppable but his strength is that his average game is still good enough to keep him ticking over near the top of the field ready for him to turn it on.

how much is this guy worth now :|

Last printing of the golf rich list had him at:

2007

Winnings = $22,902,706
Endorsements = $99,800,000

Total = $122,702,706

Career

Winnings = $100,890,709
Endorsements = $668,550,000

Total = $769,440,709

He should pass the $1bn mark sometime in 2010 if he carries on the way he currently is at the moment!

Nice!

Im amazed at the money in golf tbh personally I dont know anyone that watches it so I cant see how the prize money is so big from tournaments? Is it really big in the states?

One word, sponsors.

Every tournament has a big sponsor that will be at the tournament trying to sell the fans something.

When I went to the British Open it was crazy very expensive to go and watch, £5 for a burger and that was back in 99

It's massive in the states, asia and europe. In total there are about 57 million golfers around the world in about 119 countries, quite a global target audience.

Because of the ~7Bn people on the planet, the rather pitiful percentage that you know if really representative of the whole :p?
