Compulsive liars - only child syndrome

Nah, I just remembered that they were only childs not because they were only childs.

They were students as well. ALL STUDENTS ARE LIARS.

I'm an only child - and I find these types of notions quite funny, as people have always stated things similar to this (about only-children) even before getting to know me. The most common thing people say is when I tell them 'you must have had a very lonely childhood' - or 'Do you have trouble chatting to people' - What a load of rubbish TBH, I talk more easily and openly than 90% of people I know & how the hell do people know how my childhood was simply based on me being an Only child ???

I've always been quite fond of the "oh you must have been spoilt then." as a statement rather than a question. I used to argue about it but now it just gets a "yeah, obviously".

I'd agree with you, I don't think only children are any more likely to be compulsive liars or demonstrate any of the other traits you mention. It is simply that it is easier to pick up on their being an only child than anything else although to a lesser extent you do get the "middle child - must have been neglected" sort of thing, "eldest child - must have looked after the younger ones" etc.

//edit, forget my post, Jonny wins with flawless logic. :D

I've done a bit of googling and not found that much - anyone have experience to offer of this?

Wonder why!!

Then again, I do work for Google and did manage to change the search patterns which are held on an Oracle server to not point to it. Used a NOT command on an INNER JOIN and the results can be pretty good.

Well, I don't know about only child-syndrome, BUT I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS HIGHER RANKING POLICE IN SOUTH EAST HE TOLD ME ONCE THAT ...

bla bla you get the point...
