Hi,

The rear tyres are in desperate need of a change for the first time. The front ones have been changed a few months ago and are fine. They are all Dunlop SP Sport Maxx.

I'm looking for tyres with better all weather grip, minimal noise and longer life. Size for front and back respectively is...

225/45R17
245/45R17

I was reseearching and the Eagle F1s or Toyo T1-Rs seem popular?

I'm assuming it's best to change all four but I can no where near afford the quote provided by the dealership. What's the best option? Buy tyres online and get them fitted by a local garage or something?

Please help. :)

The price the dealership has quoted is ridiculous. See M0T's post for an excellent tyre for a more than reasonable priced tyre ^^

Why would you change all 4?! Just change the ones that are worn for tyres that arent worn.

You don't need to change all 4, especially if the as you say a pair were only recently changed. Check prices on the internet and then ring round a few places and you might be surprised just how flexible a local tyre will be. I've found 1 round my way that will match blackcircle/mytyres prices and gives a bit more off if I pay cash.

Yeah, just match the ones on the axle up. It is fine to have differently worn tyres front and back, but not great to have differently worn tyres on the left compared to right.

180 squids per tyre is shocking.

Falken 452's get fantastic reviews all over the net and are compared to much more expansive rubber. Just put 4 225/45/R17 Y on the leon for 330 fitted, bought them online and they arrange fitting day aswell. Or buy them and get them fitted at an independant, i was quoted £360 for 4 Dunlop sport maxx from Kwik fit a month ago £170 per side is 20" SUV money!!

Dont forget quidco aswell of around 6% if you get em online.
