Hehe you have probably heard in the news the mansion party turned mash up at Bovey tracy...
Anyone here went to it? I imagine most of you are from foreign parts (ie north of Bristol) but there were so many people there I'd wager quite a few Uni people had come down for their break!

No, I've absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

It's just that the pancake rabbit is old, else it'd have been posted.

My grandad lives about 5 minutes from that Colehayes Park place, so I found it pretty funny to hear about this. I have never seen any kind of liveliness down there in the 18 years I have been visiting so this is pretty suprising.

I'm going there next week so might have to 'enquire' at the place as it is normally a field centre.

If people advetise stuff on networking sites , then more fool them . Thats not to say they deserve it what so ever, just they can't complain too much. Most people get free text's or emails to let people know about partys. I hope this comes across the right way :)

Fair play to her... not only did she get her house party advertised on some social networking site, she got Pete Tong to give her a shout live on Radio 1! :D

Just saw a video of the 'Bovey Tracey Mansion Party' on GooTube... best not link to it cause there's a few swearies. Can understand why Mumsy and Daddy weren't too pleased with her, but according to the Grauniad they're trying to blame the BBC instead of their daughter / themselves - it's hardly Pete Tong's fault that a thousand people gatecrashed her party.

I bet she was loving it when about 500people came and had a banging night. Shame she didn't tidy the house in time and had too many things broken that her mum noticed and found her out and she was forced to make up some bs excuse that she was having a pyjamam party with a handfull of friends. Its the same with every party in exsistance, people hear about it through friends and turn up and then there ends up bring 5times as many people as the house owner thought was coming. Great fun though if you live in a massive student house but when you live in a "manison with chandliers" that was said int he news you have to cringe.

I LOLed when I heard about this. The girl stuck an open invite on networking sites and posters all over her school, and then the mum wanted to sue Radio 1 because Pete Tong said "theres a party in Devon"!!!

Stupid!

When I heard it on the news I was a bit miffed at what they were saying. I mean, ~2000 people going to a house party because Pete Tong mentioned that there was one going on in Bovey Tracy... I'm sure that ~2000 people wouldn't just decide to head out and to try to find the right house.

The silly bint is the one to blame here, putting up posters around the town centre and her college saying 'everyone invited!'. It doesn't mean that the people that went had the right to smash it all up though.

Am I the only one who on hearing the replay of the "Shout" thinks it sounds like Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show thought Tracy was an actual person? - having googled a bit, it seems this is the case.

Tong on his Radio 1 show, in a shout-out item that said: "We're getting ready for a huge mansion party - 500 plus people going - it's in Bovey.

Tracey in Devon tipping us off on that, anyone who's listening can come along, apparently, just say 'hi' to Marilyn Monroe on the door."

Seems to me that he mis-understood the shout in the first place, the Muppet! :p

I'm not surprised. I've never heard of Bovey Tracy. That's why the OP doesn't make sense.

I'm not quite sure why people think they have the right to turn up at somebody elses house then proceed to smash it up..

Same. If I was one of the parents I'd be making her pay for every penny of the damages. aswell as grounding her until she's 65

Yes, invite the whole internet, well done.

Never heard of this place either :p

what good will that do?? she wouldnt stay in, surely it cant be to difficult to get out of a 21 bedroomed house?

I wasn't being serious about the grounding part, but she would be presented with a choice of paying back the damage costs in full or being kicked out.
