PC Games to be scrutinised more closely

Mmmm.....

Holy poop she could scrutinize me as closely as she wants.

Any attempts to seriously regulate or censor gaming will be laughed out the courts/commons etc though.

**** me, shes a bit tasty. :D

ok as every one is jumping on the any parent who buys a 18 game ie gta, for their under-age chile is a chav etc

I think when gta 3 came out i would have been 14-5 my mum bought it for me, and I haven't gone on some psychopathicical rampage, mainly because my mum/dad taught me violence was wrong in most circumstances.

That's the big difference most children once their older than say 10-12 already have learnt about violence and whether it is acceptable or not, after that they probably aren't going to change until their 20's or later.

I mean how many violent films that are 16+ on dvd are on tv after 9pm?

So by this logic you would be quite happy to see an end to all age ratings? After all, you didn't kill prostitutes and steal cars, protection against children seem pretty absurd all of a sudden.

Very few parents teach that extreme violence is proper behaviour. I know I certainly wouldn't subject my children to a movie like Saw for example, so I certainly would not let them near a game like Manhunt. It's not for fear of them becoming murderers either, it's a very naive way to assess the situation by labeling the non murderous kids as social successes.

I'd fully support harmonising of games with films and TV, we need more violence and sex in games :D
