Corsair XMS2 Bad OCer's?

Probably made a thread on this before but it became redundant.

Long story short, the RAM in my sig, reportedly a great overclocker with reports of 900mhz+, will only reach 830mhz, regardless of timings or voltage.

Does this particular RAM have such a low limit? By the way, this is of course at 1:1 ratio. A different ratio defeats the point, as i may be able to get a high RAM speed, but the FSB would remain the same.
 
I have the same Ram, it would only do 950mhz on Striker Extreme but 1000mhz on Striker II Formula with higher 2.2volts+5:5:5:15 and 1000mhz on AM2 Rigs with default 2.1volts+ 4:4:4:12.

So seems milage is dependant on not just the Ram but Chipset.

BTW, I have also ran the basic XMS2 at same 1000mhz settings on AM2's.

The AMD Onchip Memory Controler is far better thats reason why IMO.

Vcore is 1.45v.

RAM is 2.1, 4-4-4-12. Static Read disabled.

Tried loosening timings to 5-5-5-15, tried upping RAM voltage upto 2.3v, still no difference in cap. Which is very odd.

Here's my BIOS settings, i think:

Note that this RAM will do upto around 1050mhz for me at a different ratio, i.e. 4:5.

Hmm hang on, at 1:1 that's still 415 FSB, the FSB is capped at 415 not the RAM (won't even boot past this, black screen, even 1mhz). I've sorta uncovered the problem here,

but the issue: My mobo is awesome, other's have got over 500mhz FSB with it.
The CPU is awesome, but is it capped at 415mhz? I'll tyr and do some research. Thanks for tip-off though guys.

Yes its at what you would class as 1:1 but Asus class as Linked and In Sync (2 settings) as they class 1:1 as 1333FSB and Memory 1333mhz.

Striker Extreme = 1900FSB + Memory 950mhz

Striker II Formula = 2000FSB + Memory 1000mhz.

AM2's 1000HT(FSB) + Memory 1000mhz

Haven't found info on it yet, must be my BIOS settings, the components should be solid. Maybe northbridge.
