How are ATI doing on power consumption these days? It's one of the reasons I switched to nvidia with my GTS and GT, but I'm not impressed with nvidia drivers. Would like to go ATI again next time round.
So... shouldn't the X2 drop to below/around 200 then if a 3870 xt will be around £100 or less?
I don't think that really matters, 3 x 3870s at the cut price = £240, 9800GX2 = £440-450, we all know the GX2 isn't worth the price premium, especially the difference being £210.
Three 3870's still cant even compete with the GX2sales must be really **** for them to keep dropping the price. I smell desperation coming from ATI's pants.
Fully star out any swearing

Bang for buck they take the GX2 to the cleaners. Even a single X2 gives much better price/performance than it's power hungry, hot nVidia counterpart.
Hmmm, lets say the 3870's come in at £90 (cause don't think it will be any lower than that), that would be 3 for £270), where the GX2 can already be had here on OCUK for £350.
Thats an £80 diff, more or less, not around £200...
Not sure I understand that, 3780X2 + HD3780 will end up costing as much as the cheapest 9800GX2 anyway and even then at best there about even with 3x3780 using much more power, not many actually have 3 pci-e slots.
the X2 and '70 combo uses 2 PCIe slots...
I know, I think you misunderstood.![]()
Thats the decision of the MOD's nothing for you to worry about.![]()
Crossfire 3870 does look tempting after these cuts...
I agree, if the new 4 series is not crossfire compatible with the 3 series ill definitely be getting another 3870, or maybe even an X2![]()
