I ask as I quite like the demo but it seemed to get slated in reviews and by people in general. Went to rent it today but couldn't due to it not being my card and using it in another location for the first time....sigh. In a the same shop for 30quid so was thinking of taking a punt. Thoughts?

I quite enjoyed what I played, by the time I got to Havana (2 thirds in?) I had other games to play and lost interest, would like to rent it again sometime and finish it.

It's by no means a game of the year, just an average shooter, was enjoying the story though, and a lot of things were blatantly stolen from the movie Heat (not a bad thing, classic movie)

I'd rent it though, I wouldn't buy it.

Probably just rent it in a non simple way, will have to rent it from home instead of around my uni house since my cards in my mums name. Basically a load of pants!

It could have been brilliant, but an outdated engine and poor aiming system ruined it. I certainly wouldn't pay £30 for it (though I did :p, but it was in its first week out).

I agreed with the person who wrote the review of it on gamespot - and subsequently got fired for slating it. The word No Swearing! K is used far too many times throughout the game. I had to almost force myself to play it and give it a chance. The characters were not likeable in the slightest... I simply didn't care whether they lived or died and that as a whole made the storyline irrelevant to me. There were one or too nice touches in the game though, like the shooting from the back of an armoured vehicle etc.

That was Jeff Gerstmann, and that was in my opinion a very honest review.

If your interested he (and another ex-Gamespot employee Ryan Davis) are starting up a site called Giant Bomb

The Podcast is awesome, Energy Drink and Game Reviews, what more could you need? :D

I didn't think the swearing was all that bad tbh - it certainly fitted with the mood of the game. Also no way near as frequent as the Gamespot review made out.

A good enjoyable shootout all the way through with a couple of tricky areas to deal with.

Aiming was a little....unusual but once adjusted to it I was making headshots no problem.

A game that could have been so much more on a newer engine but perfectly playable and enjoyable :)

As a budget buy definately good value. Full price maybe less so unless you intend to play local co-op to get the most mileage out of it.

It was good fun to play Coop, but besides that it was too short and the aiming system as mentioned was kinda cack. I don't think its really that much different from Army of Two (i wouldn't say that game is miles better than Kane and Lynch just has some clever features in it.
