Pc to Tv sound

looking for some help here ppl.

thru the week, thought would set the pc next to my samsung 37 hdtv simple vga connection all worked grt.
yesterday got myself a hdmi-dvi lead, picture was amazing trying out some hd samples, but till yesterday had no idea that those leads dont deal with sound :(

so what am asking what options do i have to get sound here. the sound card using am
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 (PCI-Express)
on a Abit Ip pro m/b.
Connectivity

Mic In/Line In
Headphone/Front Left & Right Speaker Output
Side Left & Right Speaker Output
Center/Sub Output
Rear Left & Right Speaker Output
Optical Digital Output
Optical Digital Input
Internal Intel HD Audio Compatible Front Panel Header (2x5pin)


buy a SPDIF lead, use from card to tv?
what other options i have, this new to me. dont wanna be buying wrong cables ect if there better or easier ways. any help be grt here, thks
 
iv got mine connected to my 5.1 set up with 3x 3.5mm headphone jack leads as the sound on the sammy TV's suck and is really not worth it.

thks for info, noticed that the tv sound is not that great. will grab a set of those cables asap, thsk :)
 
some t.v's have an audio input with their hdmi connection.....just incase sound isnt coming from the same source...then you just connect a jack plug from your sound cards audio output to that audio input on the t.v.

easy way would be to connect the jack plug to the rear channel speakers on your sound card and you can leave it there without ever losing sound on your pc speakers.
