Right what is the best version to get?

Wii or ps2 and play it on ps3?

Anyone got the compatibility list of ps2 games can't seem to find it on the ps3website

Yup definitely the Wii version. Has all the features from the PS2 version (missing in the GameCube release) and has better controls.

Depends what sort of PS3 you have. If you have a 40gb PS3 then it has no PS2 backwards compatiblity whatsoever as the GSX (PS2 Graphics Synthesisor) was removed from the motherboard.

60gb got it on the day they came out :)

only thing puting me off wii version is they said it to easy with the remote

I'd say Wii tbh. I think that the controls just add a new lease of life to the game. That's my opinion after having completed RE4 on the PS2 and after having played RE4 on the Wii.

i have it for the game cube and never really played it much, got it for the wii and a fantastic game with the wii remote.

I would definitely recommend the Wii version over the others.

Resi 4 is the game ever made, it is however FAR too easy with the wiimote.

Even so, the wii version is still easily one of the best games ever.

Just out of interest, is it still too easy on a harder difficulty setting? I've not found RE4 as hard as previous RE games anyway, and that's the Gamecube version I've got. I'd prefer it on Wii though, so don't know whether to sell the GC version for the Wii for the 'best' version.

Gamecube version tbh.
I played the GC version a lot, bought the Wii version and couldnt stand the control system. I sold it 2 days later and got Pokèmon instead. :p.
Although ive heard off people that havnt played the GC version that the Wii version is better.
So for most people, its probably a case of what you buy first...:).
Either way, excellent game. :).

I played both a lot and greatly preferred the interaction you got with the Wii, it worked very well for the game IMO.

RE4 is incredibly easy on any difficulty setting, it's not really a resident evil game.

However, as a standalone game it's fantastic. Just don't treat it as part of the series (not necessarily directed at you as you have played it and know this already :p )

I've owned all the Resident Evil games (on various machines), and still have 0, 1 and 4 for my Gamecube... Yet I prefer 4 to all of them by a country mile. Although it's clearly not as scary, so maybe it's cos I'm a big wuss :p

Is it worth me getting rid of the Gamecube version and picking up a Wii copy? I heard that the Gamecube version fetches a fair few quid still.

I've got both versions, and all the resident evils bar 3 (which was a bit pants). i just think the the quick aiming takes a little of the tension away from the game.
Struggling to get a bead on someone when under pressure is one of the best jumps in the game.
