The girlfriend was involved in an RTA about 4 weeks ago her car was repaired at an Arnold Clarke bodyshop as this was the insurers approved body shop.
She was complaining today that her car was over heating and that her headlights where terrible so I had a look I found that her coolant was well below the minimum mark so I topped it up & her headlights are dangerously cross-eyed and pointing to the ground. But on closer inspection I found several other flaws.

Pictures below. The car in question is a 1.4 54 plate Peugeot 206 the damage which the garage repaired was frontal impact including replacing the rad both lights and the bonnet.

Please advise on how we should proceed about having these problems rectified and can anyone else spot anything that shouldn’t be in the pics?

I can spot 2 Radiators is this normal the small one is the only one that gets hot, Rust , missing battery cover , missing light cover.

So nice big gaps, dodgy radiator fitting? some rust, is the top up windscreen wash meant to be their at that angle seems silly. take it back and demand it's done properly and phone the insurance aswell

We had a similar problem with Evans Halshaw in Preston. Wife had a big crash in her 04 Fiesta, it went there for repairs and the result is disgusting.

Firstly the classic problem of fine scratches under the paint, just because they've not sanded down the surface properly.

A dent they pulled out of the rear wing has reappeared.

I had to get my socket set out and tighten up one of the rear seat-belt mounting points after we noticed this loud clattering noise on the way home.

They ruined the interior, their valeters used a cloth with bodywork polish to clean the dash down, I had to get black-to-black on the dash to get rid of the white residue.

We persevered and persevered with hassling them but in the end got nowhere.

We had this problem with a garage in Liverpool, I dont know if it was a BMW specialst or BMW itself but they where fixing a few dints etc. they had to take the door off and thought it was a good idea to do it then work on another car and all the dust and crap went into our car, it took days to get it out they even left a bottle of some cleaning fluid in that leaked over the back seat.

99% are Cowboys, rather rush a job so they can get home early. Was shocked because of if being associated with BMW.

You let the insurers dictate where the car was going for body repairs.....

Why?

'Appoved bodyshop' is another meaning for 'this is one of the cheapest bodyshops and will save us the most money'

The only problem with selecting your own bodyshop is that you usually lose your courtesy car entitlement from the insurers.

I'm glad I took my old 106 to my dad's bodyshop when it got smashed up as the job was absolutely perfect and they did a few bits of bodywork which needed spraying which weren't part of the claim for nothing.

yeh i learnt the hard way from that mistake, took them twice to get it perfect.

insurance bodyshops bodge and take short cuts 1st time round, then when you complain they do it right.

not trying to go off topic but when you are fully comp, if you crash and its your fault, do they make you use a approved bodyshop or do they let you pick your own?
