Is it a Zetec or Zetec LX? Insurer needs to know, but I don't!

I have never seen a Focus of the Mark1 era with any 'Zetec' rear badging.

The Mk1 just has 'Focus'

The Mk 1.5 has 'Focus' and then the engine size.

All the trim badging is on the sides of the car, thought that's how it was done until the Mk2s which advertise their trim level on the rear badge.

Well i have! Mine says 'Focus' on the left and Zetec on the right, as i said i've seen other examples of this, maybe its not as popular? Most i've seen were just 'Focus' and 1.6 with LX on the sides though. The previous owner was not into modding and got the car from new so i don't see where it would've gotten the badge from, no young boy kids either :D If i'm wrong about this and just happened to see examples of chavishness then i think i'm gonna rip it off and look for a 1.6 badge like most others :D

As i said, lady owner, older and no boy kids, i'm the second owner.. so god knows how it came to be like this?

That Zetec badge is designed for the side of the car not the back so it's definetely been stuck on by the previous owner.

Guess i'll live with it as ripping that off and putting a 1.6 badge might just ruin the the paint or something, funny that i've seen 4 other automatics exactly like this at 2 private and 2 different dealers, must be a North London thing! Dunno what the hubhub about 'zetec' is, its the one of the smallest engined cars i've owned (apart from my Polo and my 316i) and aside from good handling i don't rate it that much. I actually liked the LX suspension better and both full 'Zetec' cars i test drove were stiff on me bum and came without air con.

BTW, about the alloys! Someone said the LX dosen't come with these? so am i right in assuming these aren't the original wheels too? :o

btw the compressed shape is due to my CCTV resolution :p

hehehe no, its got the proper LX trim, Air con, heated front and rear screen etc.. only the badge seems amiss as the wheels do match up to LX trim Foci from my year, so it does seem the LX Focus have alloys too, not sure on the Fiestas though. I think only the Ghia has the wood?

That would have been me, but I was talking about a 1998 Fiesta as per the OP.

Thanks Chris :D Answers pretty much everything. I had to put the VIN in though as the registration number wasn't recognised...

It was originally registered as something like "TVZ 7202". How wierd... explains why the current registration number shows up as "First registered: 2002" everywhere, though; I guess "TVZ 7202" was a personal plate that didn't get sold with the car back in 2002, and its current one was put on it to replace the personal one.

It's a Zetec "Fun".

Sounds like a Jersey import to me, or some other such place.
My 1999 Fiesta Zetec was, and I always had difficulty in using anthing that gave the car details from the plate.
Zetec Fun isn't any mainland UK model I've heard of.
