Asus P5E

I've had very good results with the Black Dragons on this board. It clocks Q6600 G0 Quads very well, but it doesn't like my E8400 at all.

In the J&W IP35-Pro I can get 4.5GHz (500FSB) out of that CPU no problem, but the P5E doesn't want to know anything over 430FSB. I've also got a Gigabyte X38-DS4 and that is quite happy at 500FSB, so I don't think it's the chipset either unfortuantely.

I have the v-droop aswell, but its not really a major issue to me as I can see my true volt in CPU-Z

The only real issue with the Vdroop is that the CPU idles hot as you need to run a higher basic CPU voltage than you'd like to keep it stable under load. As my PCs always run 100% flat out 24/7 running folding@home it doesn't bother me.

Can i ask what bios you used with the E8400? It needs 502 or above to support Wolfdales. With 602 on mine i had 520fsb with a E8500.
