Hi,

I've been looking into skylines for a while now, ive been looking at the 2litre versions, because of my age, and insurance.

Im really interested in this one here

http://www.petrolheads.co.uk/sales/424855.htm

I was wondering if anyone would know, roughly how much the insurance would be?

I will be 19, and have 1year NCB

(Confused, money supermarket etc, don't list the 2litre skyline, will ring a independent tommorow)

Insurance would probably be £silly, especially as the 2litre isn't that fast. Best to give some insurance companies a call. No way people can guess, we don't know your area etc... :)

At a guess, a dude at work (hes in the sixth form) has a 1.8 Focus TDCi and pays 2200 fully comped, 19 and 1yr NCB as well... so your car.. well you might be able to buy another with the insurance money? :D Shop around though.

Yeah its going to be expensive! :( I paid 1.6k for my first year on my current car.

Blimy! i wouldn't mind TPO insurance though, because i wouldn't claim for theft, id be better of keeping my no claims

It'll look flash :p Lacking a turbo whine he could always get those fake dump valve sounders :D

Yeah... I can imagine it now... Traffic light Grand Prix vs a Saxo VTR which wins.

I don't get Saxo owners sometimes, my present car is in no way shape or form to do a Traffic light standoff and yet still they try, some kids just can't drive though and i beat them in all my 1.6 Automatic focus Glory :p

I really wouldnt bother with a 2ltr R33 GTS. Heavy and slow. Id imagine you are going for the "wow its a Skyline" image... You will be laughed at by anyone slightly in the know. Save up and dont crash (build up some NCB) Then if you are looking for a cheap skyline with alittle grunt go for a R32 GTST. Wont set the world on fire.. But they are decent cars. :)

Entirely accurate. But, 'IT'S A SKYLINE INNIT!!!111one'.

As for insurance, AFAIK even the absolutely rubbish low-end Skylines are not exactly cheap to insure.

Try Sky, have a look on skyline forums, but dont be too impressed with performance from a 2L non turbo though 130bhp!

Save your money, drive a 200sx for a bit, then when your older, got a few more ncb get a gtr if you still want a skyline!

what a daft thread. £6000, .50p £2320????

Do some quotes and find out for yourself. insurance is different for everyone, and a quote takes about 3 minutes!

If your looking for opinions on the car, people in the know will know. people who aren't will think its cool until you take them out in it, and it will be heavy and slow.

On the plus side, you get to tell everyone in the pub you have a skyline!
