Thought i would share my bankholiday with you, about 9hrs work

Well the day started out bright and early. I arrived at Freinds about 9:10 and work began straight away.

Firstly we took some pictures, it wasn’t terribly dirty however it need a good clean.

Now while freind went about cleaning the Alloy firstly with APC 10:1 and a brush I was asked to have a go at her F’s Interior. It was in a pretty poor shape, so I began to set to work. Now with a bit of time I managed to Vacuum the carpets, treat the leather with Glipton and wash with a detail brush and warm soapy water.

when I was happy with the finish I treated with CG New Trim via an applicator pad

Now while all this was going on she had moved on to Foaming the car with her new Gilmore gun and Hyper wash mix

Now she needed to clay the car, while she did that she thought it would be a good idea if I could to a quick once over the TF, this was even dirtier.

But with the same process as above

(50/50 shot, cleaned and treated with AG rubber clean.)
Final finish (sorry about poor quality pic)

The time that was finished she had managed to clay the car, foam it one more time and wash away. Once the car was taped up she began with some correction.

While that was going on I treated the wheels to AG wheel sealant, which was lightly buffed off with a micro

Now the previous owner of my car had placed stickers in the rear vinyl screen and peeled them off to leave a terrible finish

with a bit of work with AG tar remover we managed to lift the stickers and buff the screen with AG SRP

The time this was finished, she was still correcting/polishing the car so I decided to Autosol the exhaust.

With a bit of time, and a few passes I managed to get a result I am really pleased

Now that the polishing was finished I applied CG Sealant all round the car while she Buffed it off with the G220, after two hits with the sealant and a layer of polish we where really happy with the result. All the plastics of the car where finally treated to CG new trim

Your on OcUK mate, not DW ;)

Nice detail, i HATE using the word detail though!

I had a UDM for a short period of time, never really got on with it that well (didn't have much time so rushed when i did use it), looking to get a cheaper Silverline now to see how that is.

Looks good, shame detailing silver cars is probably the most unrewarding colour though!

That CG New trim looks pretty good, I've been looking into a product to freshen up my interior so might have to get some of that.

Was going to do mine this weekend with a UDM but it rained both days :(

Is the numberplate anything to do with her 'persuasion'? I honestly thought it was a man foaming the car in the pic :p

Looks very nice!

That foam gun doesn't really look like it's very good though, looks like someone has chucked a bucket of soapy water over the car rather than a real foaming:

Do these foaming guns really make much difference? i had a brief play with one last year, and tbh for the money you pay it didnt seem to do all that much.

I hadnt realised the G220 had finally come out, is it any good, one thing that annoyed me about the PC was that it didnt really have the balls for serius correction, i have a Makita and Silverline rotary now.

It's only meant as a pre-wash and to reduce swirls / scratches from existing contaminants. Nothing else :)

The G220 is meant to be pretty decent, plenty of reviews / comments on detailing world;

The idea behind them is to remove as much grit/grime from the body work as possible before washing to prevent swirling as much as possible..

I don't see how it makes a difference to have one if your going to correct the paint work anyway...

Why would you want to possibly put more scratches/swirls on the car to only have to fix (Even if you are paint correcting, it just makes unnecessary work).? It's an extra step that only takes 10 minutes...

Plus if you're claying, you want the paintworks as clean as possible before starting.
