Anyone daft enough to buy a civc here?

Saw that a minute ago, was going to text a friend who's husband worked on the civic in swindon, knew it would just annoy her though and start an argument, so didnt bother.

funny though as swindon is full of civics!

Lucky mines a 2008... although I was aware of it. And why some folk don't leave the car in gear anyway I've no idea....

no idea, I rarely secure my car with the hand brake, just leave it in gear. Its not going anywhere

I was working at Honda in Swindon at the time of this fault, turns out an employee not doing his process properly for a week meant thousands of cars going out with faulty handbrakes. I wouldn't buy one!!

Don't believe that, given that it affects cars made anytime in 2006 or 2007.

Ah fair enough I made an assumption without reading the article, there was an issue with a single employee's handbrake fitting during my time there as I was offered a weekend at bristol docks fixing a small number before they left for export!

I thought you'd been stopped from creating threads, or was that just Gilly getting our hopes up?

crap. I totally forgot :o.

I made one on GD and he closed it right away, i thought he was joking!

I'm sorry! I just didnt want to hear "my car rolled down by drive and killed/smashed in to something/one"

Let this thread die so theres a chance he doesnt see it!!

woot

3 cheers for Gilly justice :)

now if only you can make it against the rules to pimp bmw's and mondeos in the motor forums :)

Any other manufacturer would simply shrug their shoulders and say "learn to use a ratchet dummy!"... but Honda, given its largely "old" :p customer base, has to send out informative letters instead :D Good on them I say... :)
