The Colour of Magic on Sky One

Well they've managed to ruin another book :( Hardly anything is as described in the book, the characters were wrong, they've missed out huge sections and the humour just wasn't really there. I've heard they are thinking of making Going Postal, after the Hogfather and now this I am really not looking forward to it. Well done Vladim Jean, you idiot.

It's definitely a good way to get new people interested in a wonderful series, but the more hardcore fans are going to struggle to like it.

hogfather was loads better, it wasnt strict to the book by any means but was done so much better, and the bits that werent from the book fitted much better as well

Not watched it yet, so I'll reserve judgement for then. However - David Jason as Rincewind, bah... They need Eric Idle for the role tbh, even at 64, he'd still fit the bill.

As for Twoflower, I really think they missed the mark cast-wise, but let's face it, it's a made for British TV show, they don't have a lot to work with.

I enjoyed it, but understood it having read the books.

I feel for someone who hasn't read the books or has someone to ask, as it tended to assume you knew the story anyway, jumping about far too much. It could have done with being longer, just to get the story right.

I thought David Jason was ok, I always thought Rincewind was younger, but he was inept enough as Rincewind to pull it off..

Love Cohan though, just as I imagined him

I have to say, caught the making-of on Anytime and it looks good.

Been a few years since I read any Pratchett, but it seemed very much familar :)

Image quality on HD was superb too!

Where did people get the idea Rincewind is young?
"40yrs and hasn't learnt a single spell"
Is good indication that he is not young.
