Hi guys,

My phone has broke and I was going to claim on insurance.

Thing is, the phone is not listed on the orange website anymore. I'm guessing they have stock elsewhere? Or would they upgrade me to the nearest spec'd phone?

Thanks

I think they have a fair amount of refurbished models kept in stock. I've had a phone replaced almost a year after I started the contract and Orange replaced next day with the same model. I would imagine you'd still get an SPV 3100, possibly just with whatever firmware or hardware tweaks may have been made since release.

Not sure it's worth it then.... insurance for the year + the £15 admin charge comes to nearly £90!!

Yeh I'm just had my phone replaced when lost it, they sent it out on a sunday (i was impressed) and was just like a new 3100, no choice in what you get just a like for like with your old one
i believe the insurance would end early if your contract ends before the 12 months (i know it did afew years ago when i used it for a different phone)

The irony is that there's no need to commit insurance fraud, just take emergency care instead. There will be an upfront fee, but it's the honest approach.

The number of people who think posting on an internet site this big makes it safe is quite scary...

Insurance fraud, what are you guys on about?

Dolph, didn't even know there was an emergency care. Do you know what the fee is upfront?

Might of found a phone to buy off another forum guys, so don't worry :D

Setting up insurance where the risk has already been damaged is fraud. Insurance is based on risk, that is the likelyhood of them having to pay out. The only way to take it out when the risk of paying out is 100% is to lie...

Emergency care fees vary depending on the phone, between £30 and £100.
