Not the production according to the article, but the owners. Apparently there won't be many changes but we'll see I guess. I reckon a lot of the admin will move to India soonish, leaving just the production here, maybe even parts production will move abroad and just leave assembly here?

Oh well if theres another thread might as well lock this one!

I know just being annoying :d the production is apparently safe there for another 5 years and also the current management is staying.

Interesting to see how long it does end up staying here. If they have drawn a contract up then thats ok for the time being I guess. good news about the pension sum paid in though I guess.

Yeah I reckon it's a certainty that production will move completely abroad in 5 years :( The Indian car industry is in its infancy, they'll learn from Jaguar and Land Rover and start moving parts of the assembly line over to India soon :(

Remember that when the Chinese bought Rover, they said that production would be shared between Longridge and some new plant in China. Today Longridge is a pile of rubble.
