Just wondering, I saw a review ages ago with an inverted LCD screen.

I'm gonna have a go at this (I know its only a little mod) with some polarising film/stuff.


ALso wondering if its worth making a box for the sub? I've heared a few people on t'internet say a box makes the bass less sloppy etc.
I might have a go at making some custom enclosures for the sats too, I'm sick of everyone bumming that wooden box mod which imo isnt that nice. And hey, I have 2 sets and one has no warrenty :D

Anyone got any ideas, if it sounds good I may probably do it over summer :)
 
ill try and find the review i saw.

basically instead of dark text on light blue bg, it will be light text on a dark background :) Its just a case of fitting a polarising sheet ontop of the lcd screen to flip the colours (afaik)
 
Has anyone got a link to the display mod? would like to try this on mine. Ive tried googling all sorts of keywords but im getting nowhere
 
holy thread revival.

Im used to the sub now, especially since being at uni. Playing a lot of dubstep / drum and bass at 3/4 volume + and full ish bass, it feels nice :D

couldn't be bothered modding anything, broke the stand on my centre, the fuse blew about 5 times (got a replacement set for a while, currently has a wedge of metal instead of a fuse) im just glad they are working ;)

Theres some nice easter eggs for the display though. Secondary skin, digital info.

wow. You do know what the fuse is for right? Instead of the fuse blowing, your logitech components will catch fire.

The fuse is there for a reason.
 
he plug has a fuse still, im not that stupid. If it peaks itll cut out.

also note: the fuse they sent me for the amp was a 2a, the plug was a 3a, meaning if the sub drew over 2a itd knock out yet the plug was letting in 3? o.o

anyhoo, its been fine for a year i aint worried. :P
 
BUMP. Would love to see this modifaction that reverses the polarity of the lcd screen like the picture. If anybody has a link or how to do this mod then please post. I cant find it on google anywhere

It isn't though is it? The Z5500 have a blue screen with black writing. If i put some black film inside the lens, i will have black writing on a black screen. A bit like wearing sunglasses in the dark hehe
 
theres a few lcd mods online that just use polarizing film to effectivly invert :(

Incase you dont know, inverting a LCD means to rotate the polarising film infront of the screen, making the dark bits light up and the lighted bits go dark if you know what I mean. If you dont, all will be revealed.

Looks tricky, but its do able by looks of it. I dont want to bork my pod if it goes wrong though :P
