my first PAYG phone : advice needed please

i'd like to make the plunge and get a mobile phone as a light user payg is best for my needs.
but i'd like the ability to use a choice of networks such as 02 and Orange, bluetooth and a decent camera and to use poss in U.s.a and Europe on the odd trip.

money... 60 quid...prob to spend on phone- please advise an abs Newbie on these devices, please no advise on 80's style Bricks

what do you mean "to use a choice of networks"?....as in after the phone is decided on you get then its just network choice? or sim free, eg any sim card could work in it. or is it my 1st thought of being able to say one call use orange and then the next o2- which isnt possible.
as for phone choices, dont know, sorry.

Try a Sony Ericsson K800 from Carphonewarehouse. A little bit more than £60, but they come unlocked, and have a decent camera and flash.

whichever PAYG network sim you go for get them to bar the premium texts or as soon as you put credit on you could lose it to them - a typical scam thats had me twice!

can you post a link to that? The site shows me £180 for unlocked. I have been looking at getting an unlocked k800i or one on o2 but cant see any cheap ones. Cheapest i've seen was £87 + postage. Everywhere seems to have cheap vodafone branded versions.

I ordered a K800i on Orange for £70 a few days ago, PAYG from Carphone Warehouse. I got a clearance model, whatever that means. It was £60, when you buy with £10 airtime, so the total cost is £70. Should get mine today, but no sign of any delivery so far. Postal service is probably a bit behind from Easter, so I might have to wait til the weekend, but no matter.

K800i on Vodaphone...£69.99 but i don't think i can post the site up, just do a little search.

Also the Nokia 6300 is a great payg phone
