Guys ok I have to ask and did post in the 9800GX2 thread but had no useful reply

I currently have a Evga 8800 Ultra m i can get shot of it on the you know what for around £220 mark .

Now i game at 1900x1200 so am i going to see a distint gain from the 9800GX over the Ultra . I did think of going tri x-fore but that will mean a mobo change and i am very happy with my P5K Premium .

Money is not realy in question here .

If the money is not a problem then what the hell go buy it. I on the other hand would rather wait for the next gen due out in the next 5 months im guessing. But if you can't wait go ahead.

You will see a gain, but whether it's worth it, it's up to you and what games you play. The ultra still is able to play all games except crysis, which is only one game. The 9800gx2 will be hotter so you will need good case cooling, but if you have the money then buy it.

Dont see the point myself its not that big of a gain over what you have ultra still a great card.If you want to play then buy it.If your looking for a much faster card the GX2 is not it v what you already have.

Be patient and wait for next-gen. Its the smartest option from where you are right now.

But then again if you are bored and just want something to play with...

If money is no object then don't mess about spending it on computers.

Get some friends together and go for a night out on the town and then you'll soon forget all about those 3DMarks scores and PC tweaks that aren't important at all :)

if you've got a Ultra or GTX, don't upgrade.

9800GX2 and GTX are both stupid next genre solutions by nVidia. nVidia basically glued 2 cards together, and called it their best offering. the fact is that most games (including Crysis) will get less minimum FPS than Ultra, due to shabby SLi. and the only game Ultra cannot play is Crysis on max, so is the Gx2.

G80 is still the king. if i were you, just get water cooling and overclock the hell out of that card. clock for clock, nothing beats the G80, do some volt mod on it with water cooling and you WILL get better performance out of it.

The resale value of an 8800 Ultra on 'you know what' is still around £300, even used.

I've only played the demo of Crysis but it's definately playable at 1080p no AA @ very high using the DX9 patch (at least for the initial jungle levels).
