got a decent review on Gamespot and looks great!
i realise it was leaked about a month ago but it was only an extended demo unless u played in russian...

anybody picked up the retail version yet? be interested to hear what people make of it

Sorry but all the etailers I've seen say it's not out for another 14 days

There's one shop listed it as new release but looks like it has been removed.

Yep 14days till retail here too, saying that though R6 Vegas 2 is out week later - I just don't know what to get!!!

Also Alone in the Dark special edition 63 days to go, looks amazing!

the pack looks 'amazing' ? or the game ?

OT : AssCreed seems to be all garnish with a truly repetitive series of missions if the console version is anything to go by... i'll wait till its £10 bargain buckett or 2nd hand before i try

Yeah same here with that opinion on AssCreed.

(Alone in the dark) The pack looks amazing and the game doesn't look half bad either. :p

Frankly, most games are incredibly repetitivem I don't have a clue why people have a go at ASs's creed for it, to be fair, i've not played it though on console, only briefly.

The one thing that works against it is the stupidly long intro vid/tutorial/early fight before you essentially start again, the whole thing is painfully slow, with WAY to many painfully slow unskippable and frankly, boring video's and small cutscenes of talking to people. So the weak area is that, the up to end of tutorial and first 30 mins of the game, really boring story.

AS for Alone in the Dark or, really, any other game, can't see a reason to spend £5-25 more for a special box with a couple of extra bits that are pretty worthless. Cheapest "full" version of the game is enough for me.

I wish they just stopped with console ports. Lounge players are just completely different sector. Unless company is prepared to do some code optimizations things simply don't work for PC gamers. They look pants, fps are locked, controls are hidiously dumbed down and the fancy body movements while your keypad is locked maybe work on console but on keyboard they are just annoying. It's almost back to commodore times when you couldn't push two buttons in the same time.
How many miles can you run through towns and towns no end pushing people out of the way with fancy gestures? The in game stealing must be one of the most annoying, badly coded, game moves of all time. It is so scripted and zone locked and so not optimized for mouse movements it will drive most people nuts.
And those cut scenes. Oh my god, the cut scenes and awakenings. It's like two hour lecture for every 10 minutes of game play.... It's like you got tickets for action movie and ended up watching Twin Peaks marathon.

thats where you are completely and utterly wrong. THe control method is BETTER on PC than the console, it runs beautifully smooth at 1920x1200, it only looks better due to higher res but i don't see that as a bad thing. THe basic control method is for 2 button mice, it doesn't work great, considering 5 button mice have been out for i dunno, a decade. Switch to the 5 button default setup and its EASIER and MORE comftable to play the game with mouse than control pad.

Not to mention, why can't people if they really like control pads, i dunno, buy one for a PC seeing as how they've been available for well, ever.

It would be nicer if the game was more complex, console games are almost always less complex and lose a lot by being console based, but not always.

The repetitive nature would have been made a little better with the option of different/upgraded/special weapons.

Oh noes, the games scripted, you can barely name a game that isn't scripted so whats the issue there?

Bad coding? what makes it badly coded? You barely have to use the ingame stealing and it works fine.

What i did say before and i agree with is the cutscenes are crappy, people need to realise great gameplay and no story just doesn't suck you into a game, a not great gameplay + fantastic story suck you into a game so much more. Plus the cutscenes not being skippable is painfully bad. I didn't play on console far enough in to know if they get less irritating, but the intro/tutorial all the way up to the first killing is very bad, though theres a lot less story after that from what i've seen. Gave up as its the style of game i hate on a console, infact half because of the control method. wanting to hold right trigger and a button while aiming up with left stick to climb a building quickly but with that setup i can not move the right stick quickly to centre the camera which makes it hard to aim the direction up the building when they throw stuff at you.

Mouse, i hold right main button, and one side button, move mouse to do camera and W on the keypad, infinitely easier and there isn't a single situation i can't press all the stuff i need at once. This game should have been PC from day one, made more complex with a properly done story. Console games so often get really weak cutscenes and stories and button bashing action.

84% not a decent score (PC Format)...
and the gamespot video review said one of the best games so far this year...
Oh I see, you meant PC Format.

When you said gamespot and I went and looked, there was nothing there. As for video reviews, looks like all official trailers to me. It appears Gamespot haven't reviewed the PC version of the game whatsoever.
