****The official GT5 Prologue Thread****

I was disappointed that the Top Gear track wasnt included, but that was my fault for not researching. But still, it has enough to keep me going... untill GTA4 comes out. :p

Eiger Nordwand B class with the evo is tough...ive spent quite a few hours on the game but am way off getting a gold on that event.

anybody managed a gold on it?

I've only got the bronze for that one. Im not really trying to get all golds just yet, just getting a top 3 finish then moving onto the next race. Trying to get all golds is too grinding, i'll go back to the ones i havent got golds on at a later date.

Can somebody recommend a good car to tackle Class A with? I tried the 06' Ford GT, and that has plenty of grunt, but is way too touchy in the corners. And speaking of grinding, i just did the Class B race 1 (Suzuka east) countless times to rack up 250,000Cr and I'm thinking of getting the Blitz R34 Skyline or the Ferrari F430 to tackle Class A with... sound like a good idea, or is there something better?

^ I am wondering the same, I've done several 'perfect' laps and im just under silver.

No top gear ? rubbish! I was looking forward to that more than anything else. Get the 1:44.4 and beat the stig! Would be class, could commentate the replay. 'Into Gambon!'

cappacino

drive a slow lap to try and time it so when the next lap starts you start to get overtaken by a couple of cars(preferably more)..that way you can slip stream one and when he is too far ahead then slip stream the next...works on slower moving cars better as your not left in their dust seconds after you see them..if its not working then slow down again and time the next lap same way.

manual gear box also helps(i think).

zero driving aids ofcourse

I did class B with the nissan GT-R (absolutely love this car) and found it to be a bit unbalanced, class c was mildly challenging with my dc5 integra but B was a lot easier... finding the A class tricky with the gt-r so saving up for an NSX '02...

anyone else find class b to be a piece of cake? (i am of course excluding the tracks where it tells you what car to use where i've only got bronzes at the mo...)

I bought the nissan GTR and found it easy just like you, however this was only for one race. I like to challenge myself ya see, and knowing that the GTR was too powerful for the grade after that race i forced myself to use the Evo X, much harder but i had more fun on the way.

I am same love GT-R it is abit sensitive but not overly difficult to control but i do love drifting it around Eiger.

Class A requires you to buy Ferrari F430 for one race i need to get saving got about 155,000 at moment.

Not sure it seems to be quite easy compared to Japanese version but i noticed the penalty system been removed at lower class in events. I have read S class is much more of challenge so looking forward to getting into it i want the GT40 dammit and F40. :D

You guys above /\, when you say you've done class A or B etc do you mean you've done them in gold ?, or just completed them with various different medals/trophies ?, I'm finding it quite hard to get all golds on class C atm.

I have not got all golds you dont have to get them to get through the classes you know. :p

But they are a challenge and a half to get in my experience first place is usually built up a big gap and its hard to close it :( on other hand some races are really easy to get gold so it depends.

its gonna take me loads of saving to do the a class cuz i've got about 100 grand, and i need a jap 300bhp car (going for the nsx) which wil cost 120, THEN i have to save for the F430... if i had not been so eager and bought the Skyline R34 V-Spec II (another of my all time faves) then i could have used that instead of the GT-R for the B class races and it would have been suitable for the a class jap races but you'd just have no way of knowing would ya...

ahh well, makes for a longer game i guess so its all good :)
