Wow I'm sure that was worth it, had you been caught doing that you'd have ended up in the slammer, all for what :confused:

I'm sure everyone has had a play off the lights but taking it as far as 145mph just sounds ridiculous really, for what? It's like those people you beat off the lights then 20 seconds later when you are happily cruising at 70mph on the motorway having reached it before them they have to go hammering past at 100+ to 'prove' a point..
 
Almost certain it was a Supra. I'd feel a complete muppet if it was actually a Skyline, because they look so different :p

i get better fuel economy at that speed though :)



drove 50 miles averaging 80+ mph 26.8 mpg

coming back 50 miles averaged 48 mph 24.2

i'm saving the environment by driving like a tool :) think of the planet Fox,

It's more highlighted that at 145mph, which could end with a custodial sentance. Also the fact you need your license for your income.
 
got a fright from a girl on a bigger bike than mine pulling away from some traffic lights, a truly embarrassing moment, she was tiny as well :(. It did make me check my mirrors religiously when moving off from then on though.

although I don't know what a "spoon" is (aside from something to eat yoghurt and ice cream with), he did say that it's equal to just under 70mph.
 
my mk2 mondeo could barley keep up with a vtr saxo

but my mk3 mondeo owned one the other night. i felt like a man

other then that i never really race anyone (honest!), maybe the odd football hooligan in his astra at the lights now and agen
 
a mates mr2 turbo made me realise just how slow a 307bhp mr2 turbo is, he does run time attack & TOTB in his though, not sure how much power he has but its probably around the 500bhp mark :D

I overtook an old 309 "trio", appeared totally standard, steelies etc... going up a dual carraigeway, and to my awe it floored it and went! I later found out that it had infact a 2.2litre VTEC engine pushing 220bhp/tonne :D

Was the VTR standard?

If so...

Are you seriously saying a 130BHP car could not keep up with a 90BHP car?

You should have been easily able to keep up and get past and even had the advantage at top end speeds. I'd put that down to your driving ;)

Its called power to weight ratio, both will be around 95bhp to the ton, hence the similair performance. After a 100 ish weight has less impact on performance so the Mondeo would have a higher top end.
