LOL That wasn't actually aimed at you, you just beat me by a minute.

I do agree with what you say though. Naturally, as with all stuff of this kind, you get what you pay for. That's why some stuff is dirt cheap and many lenses are equal to / more than the price of a professional body.
 
thanks guys :) Money obviously is an object but for some things it's worth stretching a bit further, and some not. I'll have paid £280 after cashback which is really not far off "around £200" at all. Thanks Concorde I'm sure it will be worth it.

I was tempted by the 70-200 L but the extra reach and especially the IS convinced me. The 'pop' that the L produces would be wasted on blurry shots. I'll be handholding a lot. If I ever get to the stage that I need anything better then I'll save up for the 70-200 f/2.8 L

I appreciate the help :) I can't wait to take it out

Its what I did when I got the 70-300. We don't need your silly commenting especially when he ends up buying the lens I suggested.

I'm glad you've seen sense... now throw all your lenses in a bin because you've used them far too long. Buy some more.

Also where did you find the lens for £59?I can only see it for £65..I know you can't mention competitors but did you find it just from google searching or did you use voucher codes?
 
Just from searching on Google products, 'tamron 55-200'.

Brighton, just up the road from the Marina and no I don't go to Brighton Uni but I should be going to Sussex fairly soon :)
 
Ahhh I'm presuming the site you got it from charges £5 for delivery?What does the fitting mean?It has either Nikon or Canon,I'm asking cos if they charge £5 for delivery I might aswel get it from the rainforest place but it doesnt give the fitting option.

Oh I see,would like to live around Marina but bit too far for uni,Sussex eh?Our rivals...:p
 
Yeah, £5 delivery. Canon/Nikon etc. refers to the brand they'll fit (only cropped sensors iirc like ont he d40x/400d etc.).
 
can i just say, please please please don't get the canon 75-300 f/4-5,6.
its rubbish, completely unable to deliver a sharp photograph at any aperture!
