I think it's time to get myself a new motherboard. I have an Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe which when not running a RAID array works like a beast. But it's not setup how I wish it to be. Asus website doesn't have any updates for it, and I'm out of ideas as to how to get it to work.

I am thinking of getting a new motherboard and probably want to leave Asus for a bit. I was thinking of getting a EVGA nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard. I think it's the only AM2 board that OcUK have which has lots of onboard USB ports and has 6 internal SATA ports which I want.

Does anybody have this? Are there any better ones out there?

I am very unlikely to stick another graphics card in for SLI or CrossFire and I do need a PCI slot for my X-Fi Fata1ty. I don't currently overclock though I may one day so the option left open would be nice.

I have AM2 6000+ and (currently) 3GB Geil PC6400 800MHz RAM.

Budget is unlimited though nothing silly.

Thanks for the suggestion but it has five internal SATA ports I would prefer to have six (will probably be using five - but it's nice to have a spare for future upgrades).

I had a look at that. I'm trying to get all SATA ports controlled by one company. I'm having problems getting the others seen in certain RAID situations. But cheers for the suggestion.

I'm waiting for the boards with a 970FX chipset utilising the SB700 chipset but I'm not sure when they are going to be available.

I think they will have 6 SATA ports (I think that's one of the advantages of the SB700 vs the SB600 chipsets, although I could be mistaken)

you could always invest in a decent pci raid card, then your choice of mobo goes up vastly.

i just got an abit AX78, its cheap, but working nicely - the extra cash can go towards the raid card
