Fair play to Gers today, they played to their strengths, namely squeeze the game and nick a goal.

And if im being totally honest your defence is mighty solid, not pretty, but given ours is neither pretty or capable i would happily swap at the mo...

No paranoia here, im afraid, the ref had an average game from both clubs point of view in my opinion.

The only good thing from today for me? This result and its implications in the league can surely only hasten WGS departure from Celtic.

All credit to Brown for staying on his feet and not diving for the Penalty, mentioning no names Thompson, but if he had of gone down that was a dead cert pen and would have been us down to 10 men. And yes Thompson took a dive and a free ride off on the stretcher don't believe he was injured just more ashamed and trying and succeeding in avoiding a justified second yellow.

Finally, a Rangers fan who speaks the truth. Celtic should have been awarded a penalty when Brown was clipped from behind not just once but twice and he should be applauded for not going to ground. Thompson on the other hand should have been sent off for his blatant dive and feigning of injury. My, hasn't he learned well since he signed from Hibs? Celtic players where also booked for backchat towards the referee yet Ferguson does it all game and nothing is said. Still, all to play for with two more encounters at Celtic Park. Hail Hail.

I seem to remember a certain nackamura free kick against falkirk that was a blatant dive, no contact as well which won the game. thomo played for the free kick there was contact and he went down. penalty pah even brown didnt claim for it. thats the worst biased commentry ive ever heard on setanta, the goddamn commentators were actually willing celtic to win clearly heard over the tv!!!

So, to summarise, you were cheated again?. Conspiracy etc?.

Brilliant. :D

You`re far to sensible to be a tim.

I much prefer Eddie`s stance. It`s far more entertaining. :D

Still think it`s harsh to want to stick the knife in to chesney after the trophies he`s won for you. Having said that, we had an element in our support who bayed for McLeish`s blood even though he won us 7 trophies.

Thompson, if injured, caused the contact himself by diving into Samaras. If you can't see that it was a blatant dive, you need to remove those blue tinted specs you're wearing. Oh, and you actually think Butcher wanted Celtic to win? You have a cheek to call us paranoid.

your right.. it is harsh. However WGS has had, as his main opposition for 2 years, far from the best Gers teams to best. Le Guen was, you'll admit, crap. However Strach could only beat him once and, many would say, was lucky to draw with at Mordor. Not good enough.

Since then Wally and co have had Strachan beaten at every turn. Rangers may not be playing pretty football, but it IS effective.

At then end of the day.. many celtic fans, myself included, were laughing our socks off at watties return. Not so funny now, i can tell ya:rolleyes:

The old firm results notwithstanding, and it pains me to say this, Rangers have proven the more consistent, hungrier team over the season.

Reminds me of a chant i heard yesterday. Now against my better judegment, i had a wee giggle at it.

(To the tune of Head, shoulders, knees and toes).

The commentary team were Scott Booth and Ian Crocker. I watched the game again last night and their commentary seemed to lean heavily towards wanting a C*ltic win. Perhaps their contracts are up for renewal and they are trying to appease their Irish bosses. :D

It was quite strange when you consider commentary teams are supposed to be neutral.

only 2 of that referees oldfirm games has been wins for rangers, his performances are usually shocking but he has been a ref in the of games for mostly celtic wins. he was a card happy ****** yesterday, for both teams

aye.. like i said, the ref had a poor game from both clubs point of view yesterday.

Blaming him, or anyone apart from the no-show players on the park and the clueless team on the bench is clouding the issue really.

With an hour gone the tactic of lump it forward or pass it to aiden was getting us nowhere, but strach and co did nowt about it. After the performance in the first half, which was encouraging, the goal aside, what the hell was said in the dressing room at h/t to produce THAT 2nd half non-performance???

Perhaps card happy at the non-decisions but spineless when it came to booking Naylor and McManus when they already had yellow cards.

Both should have been sent off.

Shocking refereeing again.

Quality!

I think we're being a bit premature in assuming the league is ours. In our next two games we're away to the 2nd and 3rd placed teams and IIRC we're away something like 6 or 7 of our remaining 8 games. Still, I'd have bitten your hand off if you'd offered me a potential quadruple last August.

Couldn`t agree more tbh.

This Sunday we are away to Dundee Utd. A potential banana skin and a ground we have always struggled at.

We have eight games left, 2 at home and 6 away.

From what i`ve seen of C*ltic though, i`m sure they`ll drop more points on the run in.
