My Clio detailed

That sucks, there's an old type (style before present) one that I often see parked at my gym, it makes me wet every time i see it.

Yup, the older shape had the only V6, only seen 2 in the flesh and loved them. Normal clio's just don't "do it" for me, but they are growing on me and I have a lot of respect for them (Handling and value for money).

I do like this new sporty looking model though, very tempting! :)

I'm sorry, but it looks wrong without two nice shiny tailpipes poking out through the diffuser.

Otherwise, very nice. Black always looks awesome after a good going over, yours is no exception. ;)

Nice to see a G220 in action. Rather than treat my car to a respray, I was going to get a PC and give the whole car a good going over.

Seeing as how the G220 doesn't need to be imported, and is probably cheaper than a PC, I might look into that. Read a few things about them on DT too.

Car's looking great btw! And nice brakes too! Don't the Clio's come with Brembo brakes anyway?

The one I drove did (on the front at least). Unforntunately it was at one of the worst garages I have had ever had the misfortune at going to.

One question I have for spaz if you don't mind answering:

One the one I test drove it felt like it had flat spots when accelerating (hard to explain but it sort of felt like I was lifting off slightly and then putting my foot back down despite actually having my foot down hard all the time).

Is this normal? and it didn't feel right at all.

Yeah they do come with brembos as standard, i've just got the drilled discs now because they look funky and was desperate for some new ones after Donington started to show it's real toll on the car about a week afterwards!

You are right about the flat spots too, they are very annoying, but I had my car remapped some time ago to give it a load more low down torque and it also got rid of these flat spots making it a LOT more pleasant to drive, it's still got nothing below 2000rpm but where before it had a big nasty spot between about 2.5 - 3k and another about 4.5k (I think) they have gone completely and revs very cleanly upto 7500rpm.

It is disappointing really that I had to spend an extra £300 to get it working as it should, but I'm glad I did.

It is reasonably flat underneath, not great though. To be honest I doubt it does anything at all but oh well it looks reasonably cool :p

A friend of mine contacted trading standard about the claims made by Renault on the diffuser on the Clios. They had to change their statements regarding the amount of downforce it offers. Quite amusing.

Nice car, not as nice a Cup or Williams though. :D

where did you take yours to be mapped? its something Ive been thinking about getting done

I took mine to RS Tuning in Leeds, K-Tec use the same map also. Superchips have recently released a map too but I'm not sure what that one is like.

Where did you exhaust go?

Good effort on the cleaning front, how risky is it using a polisher?

I think the risk is if you use a very abrasive pad + polish, I'm not going to admit to knowing what to use because I don't and let someone else do it all for me :p, I'm sure someone else here knows though what's best to use.

Oh and my exhaust is kinda hidden out the way with some diagonal pipes to ensure aerodynamics aren't compromised ;)

Thanks for the answer :)

I will be test driving another one on Friday so I can compare at least. £300 seems like a reasonable price for not only an increase in power (I assume from your sig about 15-20bhp or so?!) but also to give a more free revving character to the engine.

Other than the flat spots on the one I test drove, and the fact the tracking was completely out and also the gimp at the garage (sorry goit in true red dwarf fashion) it was a cracking not-so-little little car.
