Head Unit Isn't Storing Settings...

Hi all.

Firstly, i've done the "swap the red/yellow wires" and its not worked. I tried the wires in their original position too and still no further.

The head unit will store the settings, then i turn the ignition off, back on again and they are all lost...

Any ideas as to get it to store the settings? Any other "tricks" with wires?

It HAS to be the switched and constant lives.

Have you tried running the HU off of JUST the yellow, or JUST the red, rather than one of each?
 
No i haven't, i didnt realise that i could do that.

So i take it one is ignition live, and thats the one thats causing the lost settings?
 
Is the wire swap connectors on the HU wiring or on the cheap-o ISO block convertor.

If its not on the HU look for a fuse on the back of the unit that you need to swap over positions instead.

I would get a meter on the Red & Yellow lines (from the cars loom) and see which is which.

Edit - Perm live is the issue, switched seems to be working fine.
