lol, im on vodafone and on their insurance - would I be able to claim a new phone out of it through doing this idiotic act?

Take battery out and leave to dry out in a warm place. My works nokia 6300 classic got dumped in a jug of voddie red bull more then once over easter weekend. Just started to work fine again today! Phones are more robust then you think

So long as it didn't catastrophically short, and all liquid evaporates without leaving much residue behind there is no reason that it shouldn't work when fully dry

claim through insurance, dont bother with waiting to see if it works. With Vodafone Insurance you can only claim Water Damage within 2 weeks, so if the PCB starts to corrode away slowly and a month down the line your phone goes dead, you call up and say it went in the washing machine a month ago, it will be void.
