Ikea - we don't deliver...

...in your area?

Surely if their sending a courier with a reasonably small item, they can deliver to almost anywhere?

/rant.
Well, they don't use a courier, they use their own firm which is contracted to deal solely with Ikea, therefore its not an established company with a UK-wide presence.

That said, they are working on rolling out delivery to all UK postcodes using an RFID based tracking system.

They don't deliver anywhere.

I have it on good authority that they don't actually exist. Can't say too much about it, mind.

Glasgow is now in a 3rd world country?

Sometimes I wonder... :p

I know, I know - Crap thread! Was just a little annoyed I can't order the items I was after. Never had an online retailer say they couldn't deliver to my address before?

Oh well, just spent a few quid on Apple to make myself feel better. :p

Ikea do deliver nationwide....

Well sort of, I work for Nightfreight, who subcontract at Ikea, every Ikea store has an area just past the checkout, where you can actually take your purchased goods and then you can pay a subsised delivery charge for Nightfreight to make delivery for you.

And this is NATIONWIDE

1. He's in a different country
2. This was online :)

The IKEA online ordering was (atleast a year ago when I worked for them) a trial process operated out of limited stores in the country. I guess it still hasn't been rolled out nationwide, which is why you won't be able to get it delivered.

As said above, you can buy it in any shop and have it delivered.
