It's not happened..... yet. I've been saying it for the last 12 years, it’s bound to happen, people get older and a little wiser, everyone always wants to relive the good old days.... well I'm putting money down on the fact they'll reunite.... I’m starting to think it could be as soon as this December.

If they do it's been simply THE best prolonged PR stunt I will no doubt ever witness.

Today it was announced that Scott Weiland will leave Velvet Revolver due to.....

Slash: "This band is all about its fans and its music, and Scott Weiland isn't 100 per cent committed to either. Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behaviour and personal problems have forced us to move on."
See http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/article/?id=47973 for more details.

What I found strange was the fact that he's "leaving" and walking right back into the STPs.... surely if everything was as bad as it sounds the STPs wouldn't have him back anyway? Have VR been about creating brand awareness of its members all along.... maybe not but it's potentially how it could end.

Time this with slash’s comment to the NME last year LAST YEAR before anyone only half reads this!!!! http://www.nme.com/news/slash/27727

Slash - "I'm not saying never," he explained. "You know, I was saying it would be a good idea to get, just for a couple of shows, to get the original STP and the original Guns N Roses just to do a couple of shows for the fun of it."

.... It all makes perfect sense particularly if you take Scott’s departure and future prospects into account. Axel has always been made out to be the spanner, and the spanner in the works hence why releasing such statements as this ( here! - http://www.nme.com/news/guns-n-roses/29840 ) would make this thing all the bigger plus since Axel has played with Izzy don't forget. Dare I mention that "Chinese Democracy" is set for release this August?!?

Now say "bah what a load of ****" but think RATM. Ever since Audioslave made an appearance I've said RATM will reform.... and guess who I’m seeing in August :p it all makes perfect sense....... Smashing Pumpkins anyone (although that was easy to predict because Zwan were totally ****! ;))

**** the PR aspect of it anyway.... if it happens I WILL be there!

"They're going to name the baby Rodney, after Dave"

LOL Classic!

Anyway, I thought GnR have been reuniting for years now

Nah... just axels tribute band. Don't get me wrong they're pretty tight when they decide to play i've seen them a few times. It just isn't the same.

Yes they will, and they were always bound to...
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction coming up too.

Just to add to the quotes you posted, the flip side ;).

"In response to Slash's comment regarding my commitment [to the band], I have to say it is a blatant and tired excuse to cover up the truth. The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. On a musical level, there were moments of joy, inspiration, fun ... at times. But let's not forget the multiple trips to rehab every member of the band had taken (with the exception of one member — no need to mention his name).

"Personally speaking, I choose to look forward to the future and performing with a group of friends I have known my entire life, people who have always had my back," Weiland continued. "This also speaks to my commitment to my music and my fellow bandmates in [STONE TEMPLE PILOTS] and to the fans who I feel would much rather watch a group of musicians who enjoy being together as opposed to a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang."

In conclusion, Weiland warned fans not to be "fooled by veiled trickery," and even wished VELVET REVOLVER his best. "Good hunting, lads — I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice."

Well for me GnR went downhill after Steven Adler left.

Izzy then left, and it went totally downhill. Cant see it happening, if it does cant see the music being much cop tbh.

i cant see them reforming anytime soon if ever
slash n duff etc are happy as they are no real need to get back with Axel( who is a shadow of his former self)
its a shame Scott's left VR but when i went to see them last month you could see it was on the cards.
they came out 35mins late and duff n Scott had a few words on stage which lead Scott to throw his mike stand down.
it was still a great gig though, well worth the wait
some pic`s i took are on this tread

I saw GNR-with-Slash, and GNR-with-axl's-hired-help, I thought they were better the second time tbh... Also, here's an unexpected fact- this is now the longest running GNR lineup ever, and there's at least 3 people in it who've been in the band longer than slash :D
