People Who Leave During Games

Ive had this experience when playing TW08 on the ps3, winning and the guy is slicing the ball into trees and totaly missing his putts and he left, but on the other hand ive been playing games and my router has lost connection, so just to say its not always that a person leaves becasue he lossing it may have other explanations, like sudden phone call, someone at the door, loss of connection and real life.

If im losing and I know it I just leave.. why stay :)

I hope you're being sarcastic.

There's a huge amount of cowardice in leaving, there's always a way to come back. Most of the time anyway. I was 2-0 down against Liverpool, I scored in the 76th minute, 2-1, then in the 88th, 2-2 and then thanks to Ballack, in the 94th minute, 3-2. The guy didn't then leave, he fought on, managed to win a penalty to my mistake 3-3, and then in the 116th minute, scored via a fantastic volley thanks to Torress. 4-3. I didn't leave, I could have won, I nearly did. He didn't leave when he went down at the last minute, and he did win.

It says a lot about an individual if they are unable to commit to something as simple as a video game - the other person has worked hard to beat you, heck, even if they haven't, they still deserve to get credit for it. If you're unable to take defeat, you shouldn't participate in competetive events.

im sure i remember one of the Hockey games having a "achevment" for quiting out of an online match (0 points of course)

Bakes my noodle in games, especially Team games, etc. Happens in PGR4 a lot. They are in 8th on the first race in a Team Championship, then they sod off leaving their team with a lot of work to do to win

It's the way of the world i'm afraid, most people in society are quitters for most things.

Well said. If im playing online (though not on ps3 atm) against a side in bf2142 who are miles better than ours that just makes me get out the shotgun and go down fighting. But i'd never leave the server if i had a poor score

My mate was playing Fifa Street 3 here and I have a bit of a dodgy connection at times, it dropped when he was losing 2-0 to a tool who insisted on only doing knockups then volleys (anyone who plays it will know how annoying and easy it is).

The guy then sent an absolute verbal assault on my mate who'd only had his console 3 days over Xbox Live for something that wasn't his fault :p.

have you ever considered that you shouldnt take it so seriously ?

and if you cant accept its not real life, its only game. That you shouldnt participate either ?

why should i hang round in a game i dont want to play for the sake of some random person ive never even met or spoken to on the internet ?

Tools on Tekken 5 Online as well. I use Lili and a lot of the moves are leg based and involves a lot of back flips. They complain when losing.

Then there are tools that only want to play with people of the same country

Then there are tools that only use one power move over and over (That boxing guy with the tall hair)

Then ther are tools that are so high ranking and think they can enter a room full of newbies and beat the crap out of them just for points.

Then are tools that boot you off because your up next to fight, but oh no they want to fight again NOW so boot everyone else off the room

What? Lies!

You make a good point - I just think, and the same goes for any online activity, that there is someone there, someone who is human, with feelings and emotions, and whatever. For example, if I was playing a real game of football, and the other team were smashing us, I wouldn't just go "screw this" and walk off, I'd keep playing, regardless of if I knew who the other team was. There's some sort of sportsmanship involved, and I think it should be applied to in games.

Thing is, if you were to walk off in a match, the likelihood is that you'll get reprimanded for it and I think that should be fair for the game too.

As for not hanging around in the game - surely the person could play in an unranked match instead?

At the end of the day it comes down to common courtesy for a fellow gamer; someone who shares the same interests. Why be a jerk and waste their time?

I deal with it like this. Person quits within 2 mins of starting a match, I get a 3-0 win, I rank but in less than the standard 10mins needed to complete a game, jobs a gooden. Don't know what FIFA is like outside of ranked mode but the people in there really really care about their rank, much more than I do.
