"Theme Park" Help!!! (Please)

Thorpe park has got quite a bit better in the last few years, Stealth is rather a lot of fun, acceleration is maddness!

The acceleration is insane. 0-80mph in two seconds or something. When it starts you're thinking AGGGHHH TOOO FAAAAASSTTT and then you realise there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

I've heard that Kingda Ka is something like twice the height.

kingda ka is highest in the world at 456ft, top speed of 0-128mph in 3.5 seconds
in comparison stealth is 205ft, top speed 0-80mph in 1.9 seconds

The only one I've been to is Alton Towers, good fun even though I'm not into the most hard core rides.

Went on a normal week day in may and it was very quiet. Most of the rides we walked straight on.

How busy does it getting durring the week in the schoool summer hols.

it can get extremely busy in the 6 week holidays
one time i went every ride was at least a 30+ minute queue so we ended up leaving way before closing time

30 mins is nothing! I've queued up to 2/3 hours for some rides at alton towers in the past. At other times I've not queued at all though.

sorry i worded that wrong, i meant every single ride was a minimum of 30 minutes
the main attractions like rita, air and nemesis had queues over 2 hours

Don't go to Chesington as it's for kiddies now.

So either Thorpe Park or Alton Towers.

Both are pretty decent, so I'd just pick the one nearest to you.

There's always drayton manor as well :)

www.draytonmanor.co.uk

Which has a standup roller coaster and a standup drop tower which is awesome and a backwards log flume :p

I would say TP as I have never been there. Bored of AT now and Chessington is ok but a bit pants :(

Used to be AT>Chessington>TP and now its TP>AT>Chessington imo

I have been to all 3 fairly recently, chessington is not worth the entrance fee now since it is for young children.

I found Alton Towers and Thorpe Park to be fairly equal. I found at Alton the rides weren't actually that great and wasn't really worth the long drive to get there.

The bad thing about Thorpe is that the last few times I have been the rides were breaking down, a lot and some didn't open at all. This was in April and June last year, so not exactly late season when they have all been worn out.

Stealth seemed to break every hour or so, the detonator was closed both times. Rush Slammer, Vortex, Tidal Wave were broken the second time and X kept breaking down.

Both times I have been to Alton the broken rides tended to be fixed by the end of the day, whereas with Thorpe they don't seem to fix them quickly. Plus Alton has the Water Park which I found fun.

I love Alton Towers, mainly because we get free tickets as we live right next to it. Don't get stuck in the traffic as we just walk there! :D

Draytons a no go as we have 1/2 price tickets for thorp/AT/Chess. Drayton I will be taking the kids to though for thomas land, bloody tv adverts :(. Looks like were goign to thorpe park, as none of us can be bothered with the extra journey time

Cheers everyone!?!"£$K$O"!

Alton Towers easily, and not just because i work there :D

Interesting fact for you regarding towers, only 8% of guests paid the full entrance fee of £32 last year, whilst the average guest, including those 8% only paid £15.50, which, i thinks a bargain for the day out you get.
