Dunn's River Nourishment Cans

Well if you're not willing to put the effort then there's no helping you! ;)

I'm up every day for work at 5am. I get home at 6pm. I go to the gym 4x a week, and play squash/sports 2x a week when not at the gym. I prepare my lunch/meals for the next day the night before. I have time to cook, do some personal admin, spend some time on the forums, watch a bit of tv/read a book, tidy the house, see my other half, do some washing etc...

There's no excuse IMO - other than pure laziness.

That's one busy working day you have! Why aren't you dead yet and have you used a sofa before? :). You must literally not stop for longer than 5 minutes.

Effort-wise im obsessive, monitoring everything to the finest detail, like a lot of things, i'm a perfectionist. However, at the same time, i try to keep excessive workload to a minimum, hence why i'm at work now posting in a dozen threads at the same time :D

Per gram of foodstuff - maybe. However owing to the fact that a piece of meat is a lot more dense, and typially larger than an egg, it's just statistics ;)

Aha! thank you for proving that vegetarians are NOT as healthy as meat eaters. They say additives in quorn are just as good and don't understand how the body absord food. :D

Hmm that's interesting though, i assume lean meats or Tuna would be the easiest then, especially tuna, shame it stinks and not something i'd bring into work lol.

The amount of sugar in them is just scary. Sod that. If they took away the massive amount of sugar, then it would be worth looking at. Stick to a well balanced meal, or an MRP.

How I wish that were true for the gym rats in this office. Not only do they bring dirty tuna in to stink my place of work out, but curry and other minging smelly food too.

One culprit in particular annoys me with this.

I'm a tough cookie ;)

I don't do ALL those things every day, as you can imagine, the washing machine only needs to be done every couple of days, and house work is an ongoing process that you do as you go along. I'd be dead if I did EVERYTHING every day. However things like food are most definitely required. I'm just organised and reasonably well regimented - I buy stuff on ym way home and do bulk of my shopping on weekends, and if I'm cooking dinner, at the same time I can watch tv/use the forums, prepare lunch for tomorrow etc... I multitask very well as I'm organised and have all my "systems" in place.

I've got a background in project managing so I'm used to juggling a lot of tasks at the same time - maybe that helps.

Furthermore it makes me appreciate my weekends more and my holidays even more! ;)

I do have busy days, I don't have much time I waste as I'm constantly doing more than one thing. However I sleep WELL, very well (6hrs or so) and am in tip top health/condition - ask Morba :).

I guess it depends what you want. I look after my health, because I am so busy I can;'t afford not to make sure that I'm firing on all 12 cylinders. I've never had so much as a cold or any illness in my life and I believe it's because I'm healthy and not overly stressed.

Yeh, or those idiots who think they're middle class and bring a 3 course meal with them with asparagas tips and smoked salmon steaks lol.

I'm very considerate about this, which is why i was asking for alternatives. Boiled eggs from the night before tend not to be too bad. But need something that travels well for an hour or two and doesn't stink the office really.

Tuna's ok, but it does contain high levels of mercury so should be limited to (IMO) a couple of portions a week. Other oily fish are better IMO.

Gym rats eating curry!? Let me at 'em! :p

Too much alcohol messes me up, but luckily i'm blessed with a fast recovering body and can get back to top condition fast (still only 23 too).

It's all habit-making. My best mate has started doing gym regularly, so that will help loads, a gym buddy is more motivation (im extremely competitive). Missus said she wants to go with me, but i kinda gave her the V's to that lol. I need to get in the habit of making food the night before, without eating it. I do everything for now, rather than later. Need to shake that off. Instant gratification society heh.

Ugh, project managment, i'm surrounded by them. Do you use Microsft Project for daily tasks, assigning you missus work hours, perhaps using a PRINCE2 methodology? :D :D

Dammit, is everything deadly nowadays!!

Right, eggs aren't dense enough, tuna contains mercury, shakes give you diabetes.

I'm sticking to ham it seems then! lol.

I still get my instant fixes, I'm quite spontaneous at times but for daily life it's just not practical. :) I don't drink - well not for a while now, so it's quite easy to stay on top of things. :)

As you say you've got to break the habit - but I've always been quite regimented, that was further instilled in me during my french nat. service too.

other half works long hours too (lawyer) but it works for us :) Off to NY tomorrow for a break :)

I need to be told to do something in most cases, i only do what is necessary, i'm incredibly forgetful, but at the same time obsess over small details.

I have to literally write up a list of things to do, what times to excersie and suitable punsihments for myself if i don't do it. I'm going to get the missus to help me i think, tell her that if i don't goto the gym without reason on a night, she can go shopping with my card at weekend lol.

Tuna's OK - but just don't over do it. Get good protein stuff - go to myprotein.co.uk they're stuff's very good, and cheap if you work it out per shake if you get their bulk buys - low sugar, high quality protein too. :)

Eggs are great! I have a dozen a week or so - as you say they're very bio-available so don't knock 'em off, just include other things in your diet. Milk's good, cottage cheese is fantastic (low sat fat too), seeds, nuts, and of course fish!! Fish rocks. But if you're veggie there's no need in me suggesting beef/chicken. Beans and pulses type of foodstuffs contains lots of proteins but you have to eat them in high quantities to achieve the same absorption, but tha'ts not a bad thing as they contain a lot of water too so aren't that calorific.

There is a lot you can do to eat well, you just have to put the research in. :)

Making lists are fine! You'll find the more you make the more you'll remember things. Sticky magnet fridge notebood is useful, postit notes, or if you use Outlook and a decent phone use the task facility and synch your phone as a reminder. I'm lucky, I don't let things drop and am not too forgetful - but I have things constantly buzzing round my head - however when I switch off, I can just switch off which is a very lucky trait to have.

Why use effort when it comes in a can? :D

I'd prefer to eat 6 perfectly balanced meals a day, but planning and varying that just seems a logistical nightmare, let alone expensive. You can take the 3 or so meals to work daily, pain in arse, buying it would cost a bomb (i spend a lot at lunch as it is).

Hold on, you eat 6 balanced meals but complain about planning and varying, surely planning 6 balanced meals is as hard as it gets?

you spend a lot at lunch probably because you buy what you want at that point in time, prior planning will save you money.

eh? a minute ago you said you were a perfectionist, but now your forgetful and need to be told to do things. Surely the 2 are contradictory?

Nope. When i do things i do them properly and to detail. Remembering to do them is another case entirely :)

Also, i'm not a veggie freefaller, the name has no links to that heh. I'm as carnivore as it gets, in fact, i'll eat practically any food except cucumber, anything.
