So that's why all the Babel fish are extinct?
Water vs. Land: 70.8% Water, 29.2% Land

Fish don't exist, they're a clever ruse by god to test your faith.
There might be more water than land, but everyone is living on land. Why would we evolve gills when we clearly don't need/use them (yet)?
Considering that the mammals which have gone back to living in water still havn't evolved gills and don't need to, its a fairly safe bet that no human decendant will ever, ever evolve gills. There might be more water than land, but everyone is living on land. Why would we evolve gills when we clearly don't need/use them (yet)?
IndeedThat yet needs to change to an (any more)![]()
The pinnipeds do not have gills. Edit - That should have read 'all' marine mammals, beg your pardon.what if we were forced to live in the sea,or not on land due to some future disaster.surely over time we would develop something to aid our sea/water life.

You have no plaice in this thread.
See my edit. My mistake was glaringly obvious, as is yoursThat's because they spend time on land. Perhaps if a species went back into the water, and never came back onto land over millions of years the lungs would be replaced with gills? I think Sea Otters spend most of there life in the open sea.
