will it run on 2gb of pc2-6400 ok or do i need more?

you'll be fine, assuming your other specs are up to it. just dont break the 4GB barrier on 32bit

i got 2gb on its way to me but not for a few weeks so should i wate till i got the 4gb in to will it runs a ok on 2gb?

Will be fine with 2gb, the spec in my sig is happily running vista home premium 32-bit

That will be more than fine for vista, I was going to run vista on 3800x2, 1.5Gb Ram and a 7800gtx. So I wouldn't worry about that.

Yep, 2GB is fine. I've recently gone from 2GB to 4GB (albeit only 3.2GB gets used due to 32-bit limitations), and there's no difference as far as normal usage is concerned. Gaming might show improvement, but I've not had time to try that.
