Hi guys

I got promotion this week and get a car allowance, rather than lease and have nothing after 2/3 years I'm planning on getting a loan and purchasing my own car.

I have 2 baby boys so need space, but would like summit a bit nice for me and the missus as I worked hard to get this. With that in mind I was thinking of a Vectra SRi 150 diesel 2/3 years old maybe max 30k on the clock fsh?

I have an old Audi A4 which is like a tank and never let us down but I'm not sure I would get a nice Audi A4 diesel for 8K?

Or is there any others I should consider?

Thanks guys

I'd get another Audi A4 if you like them. I find them a bit dull but if you are happy with yours its clear you dont and there is nothing fundamentally wrong them. Nice 2002 will do the job for £8k.

hes saying the mondeo is better

the vectra came out 2 years after the mondeo yet the mondeo is a lot better, the sri vectra looks good imo rest are just rep cruisers. the 2005 vectra is about on par with a 2000 mk3 mondeo... (according to parkers)

Ah I see, don't fully understand the lingo at times :)

Sorry are you saying Mondeo or Vectra?

The aligator always eats the bigger meal ;)

I do agree on this front though, I'd be tempted by a mondeo in this budget if I wanted a family waggon. You could get a very nice Octavia VRS in this price range (and a 220bhp remap).

This would really put the cat amongst the pigeons at work :D

Missus has given the nod... I take it 61K is nothing for a fsh diesel engine of this type these days?

Nah diesel engines are made from depleated uranium. main thing to check at that sort of mileage is the belt (unless its chain driven) and the clutch. Contrary to popular belief, cars don't blow up after 100k miles. That thing could do you for yyyeeeaaarrrrrs so long as you service it.

Well I've sent a mail to the garage for more details and possibly pictures......

Be gutted if it's gone.... lol oh well I was all for a Vectra but this has turned all that on its head
