I disagree. I personally loved the last 2 episodes of the series, I didn't think it ruined it at all. I watched EoE afterwards also.

I suppose it depends on what it is about Evangelion you enjoy.

If you watch it for the fact it portrays Shinji's struggle to understand his place in the world, build relationships with people and come to grips with his own self while surrounded by quasi-mythological psycho-babble then the last episode is good.

If you watch it for the fact it features weird alien monsters being destroyed by huge Bio-robots in a variety of violent and explosive encounters then EoE is a better bet.

While on the subject of NGE, what are the other two films about? I've been told EoE progresses from the first film, and that Rebirth of Evangelion comes after EoE, is that right?

Bad news is they won`t ship outside of USA and Canada:(
lets hope that someone like dvd pacific or dvd box office will get them in after the release date

Normally they do.
Animeigo has a slightly odd way of releasing DVD's, they tend to release them first to people who (pre)order from their site, then a few months later put them into general distribution, I guess it's one of the ways they can maximise the return on their investment as a small company who usually goes after more obscure/older stuff these days :) (IIRC then they released Macross they did it based largely on people paying a deposit up front, and those people got a nice box and some extra goodies).

Well i am on their `pre order list` to be notified when the set was available
Just irritated they did not make clear they only shipped to U.S. on the `invite`for notification e-mail i got a few months back

I see, via AnimeonDVD, that some info has come out about the upcoming Japanese Blu-Ray release of Full Metal Panic. It appears that it will have a English 5.1 audio track included, although at the moment it doesn't appear to have an English sub stream for those who prefer that. There are also indications that some of the CG has been redone too.

Sounds good. This is one of my all time favorite series with its mixture of action and non-action elements. :)

Just ordered Full Metal Panic complete series for £14.98, is it any good?

It's very good, (although I'm biased), and at that price you really can't go wrong.

There's currently three series; the original which is a good mixture of action and non-action, the Fumoffu (probably spelled incorrectly) series which is mostly humour and only slap stick action and the thrid season "The Second Raid" which is a lot darker.

They're are all good

;)

I'm after a bit of advice gents!

Basically I ended up watching Wolfs Rain which I really really enjoyed. It's the first "serious" (if that makes any sense) Anime that I have ever seen and I was wondering if you had any suggestions for other shows of this sort? Something with a good story, it doesn't necessarily need to have everyone die at the end mind you, but drama is always good, as is a bit of fun comedy stuff :).

Thanks in advance :).

Witch Hunter Robin
She, The Ultimate Weapon
Now and Then, Here and There
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

She is available online for aboute £10-18 for the complete series+ OVA set
Now and then, here and there is unfortunately OOP in the states I think:(
GITS: SAC seasons 1 and 2 are available for aboute £18 each at one onlline retailer.

And I would highly recommend all for of Loopstah's suggestions :)

My copy of the UK release of Gunbuster 2 arrived this morning (which was a surprise, as I didn't receive a shipping email, and thought it wasn't out for aother week), it's in a card type outer case with plastic try to hold the disks :(
The cover art is nice, but the packaging probably won't stand up well :(
I suppose I shouldn't complain, we get the whole OVA series for less than the US release cost for a third of it :)

I would echo the other recommendations above with one further comment. Watch the actual GitS SAC series and don't bother with the newly released Laughing Man DVD, (this covers the main plot arc of SAC 1 but cuts out any non-arc bits leaving you with a long "film").

I watched this this afternoon ... and I didn't really think much of it. The trouble is that having watched the full series quite a few times you ware left think "why didn't they include that bit?" so you keep on thinking that something is coming next ... but it doesn't, and sometimes this meant the plot wasn't as smooth as it could have been and there were times when you felt something was missing.

I can see what they were trying to do but I'm not sure they have pulled it off, but it's hard for me to say knowing the original ... I suspect that the Individual Eleven release will have the same issues (but I'll probably impulse purchase it anyway )

.... made up for it by watching Ocean Waves later on :)

Cheers for the advice guys, Anime isn't something I have really enjoyed before now bar Wolfs Rain... but is probably due to the quality of what I did watch. An awful lot of rubbish out there. Infact is that sig you have from Wofls Rain werewolf? Or is it just a generic running wolf? :P
